Heads or tails
A new animated movie from DC comics. This is the second half of the story 'Batman: The Long Halloween.' We had the first half on dvd the other month. And since this picks up right from where the post credits scene in that finished. So you do need to have seen part one in order to get into this.If you have, read on.It, as with part one, is a fifteen certificate. With strong violence and nightmarish moments, and very mild adult ones too. So this is not Batman for the kids. This concludes the story in a very satisfactory manner, with an excellent last scene that does get one of themes of it across. It allows for some great character development. Does a very realistic depiction of mental health traumas. Again has some really top notch voice acting. This is really grown up and mature storytelling, about grown up people, and that makes it work. And the animation is just gorgeous and amazing to look at. In the way it shows the seasons affecting the city. An amazing Scarecrow moment. A Batman who is still learning his trade, and you really do feel for him as a result when he is left vulnerable. And it even remembers people on rooftops are up in the wind and shows that effect on them. A bit of animation I will never forget. The Bat Cat relationship comes over so well.I could just go on. There's so many little delights in watching this. It does get the plot into the running time judiciously. Although it's not a hundred percent adaptation of the original graphic novel, as one key scene is set up but then never happens. This doesn't spoil the end at all. It must have been cut for time. But if you've read the comic, you will know what I mean.Do keep watching to the very end of the closing credits. One of the best DC animations ever, and it lives up to part one with it. The two of them together form a superb viewing experience. The dvd goes straight into the main menu when loaded with no ads or trailers. The language and subtitle options are:Languages: English. French.Subtitles: English, Dutch, French. The only extra is the usual preview of the next dc animation. Which as ever uses unfinished and finished footage, plus talking heads, to show it. In this case, it's an adaptation of the video game that spawned a few comics, Injustice. Which looks great.

Too long Halloween
I was a bit disappointed in this story. The revelation was a little too obvious. Batman was getting his butt kicked a bit too much. I understand that this was more of Harvey Dents story but it was a Batmsn label. The parts I really liked film noir style of the movie, and the finale fight, not the revelation, and the final scene earned thus an extra star for me.Unfortunately the movie just felt a bit too long and dragged out for me. The main revelation of Holiday was obvious, and things like the relationship between Batman and Selina was left out.

Best Batman story
Love the comic and so happy and relieved that they have done a good adaptation. Do not have one complaint - this is in the mix for the best DC animated film. This also must be the best cast they have ever pulled together - they all nailed their roles. So good!

Good film.
A good dvd but for fans of Batman, especially the comic collectors, you'll notice differences between the animation film and the comic novel.
