Probility of it being made in China is 98 percent , but it works very well , on low level you can not hear it if your a light sleeper ... I would give 10/10 easy to operate instructions which you dont really need to read ...

No, I'm afraid that the top is not designed to be removable.

Q: Taken filter out of wrapping put in from new just says E1 pressed uv and timer for 5 seconds nothing works is it faulty

Q: what is the negative ion output/ ion generation?

According to the instruction manual it is "ultra powerful" and generatesmore than 2 million negative ion outputs"....I don't understand this but hope it helps.I'm still very pleased with the machine.
