Review: Found stains I had no idea were there (gross but useful) - Bought these because my cat had a phase of missing the litter box and I was going insane trying to figure out where the smell was coming from. First night I turned this off and did a sweep of the room and oh my god, the things this light reveals. Spots on the carpet I never would have found with the naked eye lit right up. Cleaned everything properly and the smell is finally gone, so mission accomplished. For eight bucks getting two of them feels almost too good. I keep one by the front door and threw the other in a drawer for backup. They're tiny, like smaller than I expected, easily pocket sized, but the build feels solid with the metal body instead of cheap plastic. The 12 LED version is nice and bright, definitely gets the job done in a dark room. Couple things worth knowing going in: batteries aren't included, so grab some AAAs before you sit down expecting to use it right away. That caught me off guard but it's a minor thing. Also you really do need the room pretty dark to see the stains clearly, which makes sense but just so you know. Beyond pet stuff I've messed around checking IDs and some currency, and my kids think it's the coolest thing ever for finding scorpions and random glowing stuff outside. Genuinely useful little gadget that punches way above its price. No complaints at all.

**Q: These take flat batteries how many and what size?**
A: Three AAA batteries, pay attention to the orientation in the "pack" and the orientation of it's poles in relation to the flashlight.

**Q: Can these be used to illuminate day glo  star stickers ???**
A: I think they would illuminate the stats beautifully. I know that I have glow in the dark items and it works great. And these flashlights are sturdy and are a great price. If they didn't work you could always send them back but I think they would work perfectly with the day glo stars.
