Review: Decent W11 machine for the price - A lot of buyers complain that OS allows MS programs to be installed. You can bypass this feature at first boot up. I struggled to get to the BIOS but found you had to press ESC and F2 at the same time to boot into the bios. I had to disable secure boot in order to install Linux Mint alongside W11. Now I have a nice dual OS machine. Linux installs a Grub Boot screen that allows you to choose your OS at start up. I like this unit because it has full size USB ports plus an Ethernet cable port along with standard head phone jack.
Review: Pretty good - I purchased this for a spare office workstation and it has worked well for that purpose. Screen quality is good and bright. I leave it plugged in usually so I can't fully comment on the battery life but supposedly it lasts 4 or 5 hours. Processing speed for basic tasks is fine. I don't think it would work at all well as a gaming machine.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this computer have a cd, or card reader?**
A: Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-36UT has neither an optical disk reader nor a memory card reader. You can overcome those limitations by connecting external readers to a USB port.

**Q: Can i format the hard disk and reinstall windows 7?
i think windows 7 is the best version in history.**
A: well, some of the devices may be too new, you would have to get drivers for them if they still support win7. On the face of it, I dont see why not. If you have the CD or know how to make a usb boot disk, you can try. Now days if you do run into problems you can reset it back to win11 from the bootloader on the machine. Just install win7 before you add anything to it of course. Best to call the maker and ask, do it within the warranty period. I agree, I dislike windows at 7 (make sure you have service pack 2 of course). You can also try linux, its really not that difficult to go with MINT. GOOD LUCK!!

**Q: Anyone knows the motherboard chipset for this laptop? i wonder if it is b560, possible for gen 4 nvme ssd?**
A: Not sure but if your wanting it for gameing sure it runs app type game from play stores, but thinking like graphic games it just doesnt have the power , very choppy very slow ,but for normal type a letter, search internet, listen n watch movies online then it should work just fine.

**Q: Hello. i would like to know what the specifications of the ram are.**
A: This laptop supports DDR4 2666/3200 SODIMM memory.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Performance with Slight Screen Glare
*by T***E on May 13, 2023*

Title: Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-36UT: Great Performance with Slight Screen Glare I recently got my hands on the Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-36UT, and overall, I've been quite satisfied with its performance. Here's my detailed review: The laptop boasts a 15.6" Full HD display, providing sharp and clear visuals that make multimedia content and work tasks enjoyable. Powered by the 11th Gen Intel Core i3-1115G4 processor, it handles everyday tasks with ease, ensuring smooth multitasking and responsive performance. The 4GB DDR4 RAM and 128GB NVMe SSD provide adequate storage space and quick data access. One notable feature is the inclusion of WiFi 6, which guarantees a fast and reliable internet connection. This is especially beneficial for those who heavily rely on online activities like streaming, video conferences, and browsing. However, it's worth mentioning that I did notice some screen glare on the laptop. In well-lit environments, particularly areas with bright overhead lighting or sunlight, there can be a slight reflection on the screen. While it didn't significantly hinder my overall experience, it's something to consider, especially if you frequently work in brightly lit spaces or are sensitive to screen glare. In terms of build quality, the Acer Aspire 5 is sturdy and well-constructed. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the trackpad is responsive and accurate. The laptop's slim design and lightweight nature make it easily portable, adding to its convenience. Regarding software, the Acer Aspire 5 comes with Windows 11 Home (S Mode) pre-installed, providing a streamlined and secure user experience. To summarize, the Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-36UT offers great performance and features. While there is a slight issue with screen glare in bright environments, it doesn't overshadow its overall capabilities. If you're in need of a reliable and efficient laptop for your daily tasks, this model is definitely worth considering.
