TABOR TOOLS Pruning Saw with Curved Blade for Trimming Tree Branches TTS13A (13 Inch, Curved Blade, Without Holster)

I've used several models of the popular "Professional" and "American" garden saws and pruners, which are now made in China, Mexico, and other non-U.S.A. countries (So how American are they, except for high executive salaries?), I bought this Tabor one based on Amazon reviews. It is obviously of a much higher quality and better-sharpened steel. I'm 79 and have lost much of my upper body strength, so I really know what "easy to use" means, and this saw cuts easily for me. You must remember that it cuts on the pull stroke, not on the push. If you push too hard the blade will bend. Also, you have to cut more or less vertically, so that the cut will open up and not close up and bind the blade. If a cut is going to close as the branch weight falls on it, make a vertical cut first to remove almost all of the heavy part of the branch, then cut the last few inches off. This is true for all pruning saws. The sheath for this saw must be bought separately. I've just been using the cardboard sheath mine came in. I've been cutting off 2 or 3 1"-3" branches daily , then cutting them into short pieces that fit into our trash for more than two weeks, probably around 100+ cuts and my saw seems to be as sharp as ever. Definitely a bargain.

I used the saw for the first time today and was able to cut through 3 and 4 inch branches without any issues. I was worried the handle angle would be an issue, but it wasn't. It cuts really well and doesn't bind as much as a regular wood saw.Overall it is well worth the money. I'm very happy with it.

After using this saw for several weeks, I started to know how to use this saw better. It is very light weight, thin and flexible, designed for pull actions rather than the traditional push and pull actions. Branches one inch or less thick can be cut with 3-4 pulls only. For cutting 5 inches thick or thicker branches, challenges can appear when the cut is about half way, the weight of a heavy branch can start to press on the blade and require force to push the blade out before pulling. Unfortunately, being pressed on both sides of the blade, the push action dulls the blade. Now I have learned to continue opening up the cut when cutting big branches. Due to these previous mistakes my saw is not as shar beforep, but still very useable.

This is a light weight thin blade pull saw with very nice teeth, the blade seems similar to a silky but I haven't had it long enough to really compare. I don't expect these types of saws to last all that long, even a silky, and I don't know how to sharpen them, but it seems to cut great for now. I'm going to keep it clean and oiled and see how it does. This one doesn't come with a sheath but it fit fine in a similar saw's sheath. Great for climbing and cutting smaller live wood, carefully

I have a lot of pine and maple trees to trim in my yard. This saw is sharp and cuts clean and fast. I have cut branches from 1/2" to 3" with ease. Unlike American style saws, this saw cuts on the pull stroke which allows the blade to be thinner and cut straighter. It may take some getting use to cutting on the back stroke rather that pushing the saw, but once you make the adjustment you will appreciate this style of saw. The pull stroke action also allows you good control cutting next to the branch collar, which is what needs to be done to properly trim a tree branch. This is a fixed blade saw that will not close on your hand like some of the folding style trimming saws. I also have the folding style trimming saw which is convenient to carry, but very dangerous if the blade unlatches. This is a very good saw for the price and I would recommend it to any home owner who needs a hand saw to trim limbs. Product quality is great. The holster design is also engineered well. Everything is top-notch, but keep in mind the holster is meant to be worn by a right-handed person. As a south paw user, I either have to wear it backwards on my left side, or not at all. Not exactly sure, which way I'll go. Fortunately, I'm only pruning a couple bushes or trees at a time, so it doesn't really matter. The option of a left-handed holster is not available.

Me and a few out of hand shrub/trees had been fighting for quite a few years now. I was tired of playing. I came out armed with this bad boy and took 'em down to the ground. It was easy and quick work of those suckers. This thing is sharp. I could saw through much thicker branches with just a few back and forths than I thought was possible with a hand held. A good price for something that actually delivers is few and far between now days.

For perspective - This review is written by someone who barely takes the the time to write his loved ones.The performance of the TTS13 is really great compared to a similar hand pruner I purchased at Home Depot. The handle is designed to fit comfortably in your hand while in action and takes on average 30% less strokes to cut a limb versus the HD one. I was really bummed when the tip of the saw got pinched in a limb and broke off. Which leads me to why I am writing this review - Customer Service.I wrote an email explaining the situation and Korina from Tabor Tool's Online Marketing Team and she immediately sent me a replacement.So Great Product - Great Customer Service.
