A great starter set, enough equipment to cover most tasks. Dremel quality, peace of mind!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this kit to replace an old rotary tool that had finally handed in the towel after years of occasional use. Dremel have a very good reputation and I decided to move up market a little and see whether that reputation was deserved. After a lot of research I decided to go for the 4/65 set. I decided to buy a corded Dremel because I could see me running out of battery mid task on some of the jobs I have planned for it.If you are wondering what the 4/65 is referring to, there are 4 attachments included in the set and 65 accessories. These are all stored inside a hard plastic case and this set also includes a removable tool holder with a cord wrap that can be hung on the wall for neat storage. On opening the hard plastic case I found everything neatly placed inside and it was obvious that a lot of thought had gone into designing it. I checked all of the contents and everything was there. There are a lot of accessories and they cover a lot of useful applications. Sanding, grinding, cutting, shaping, sharpening, carving and polishing. There is a small block of polishing compound and also included in the set is the EZ SpeedClic Starter Set. In my opinion this should be included in the attachment list as it is so useful. It is a quick fit mandrel with two metal cutting disks. I show it in the attached video. The attachments are:Flex Shaft – this is a must have for the Dremel if you are planning to do a lot of work. It is much easier to use than the Dremel itself and makes fiddly jobs much easier to handle.Line and Circle Cutter – you can cut out neat circles in wood with this attachment which is basically a small trammel bar, great for making coasters or anything that requires a small accurate disk. It can also be used to cut straight lines along the edge of a straight piece of wood.Shaping Platform – for sanding wood at 90 degrees or chamfering at 45 degrees as well as other uses.Detailer’s Grip – a small handle designed to make delicate and accurate work easier by improving the way the tool is held in the hand. Used for engraving, power carving and etching. In use the Dremel is very smooth and feels like a quality tool. It has a variable speed from 5000 to 35000 rpm. It has a comfortable feel to it and changing the accessories is easy. I have used mine a fair bit since I purchased it. Some of the video is taken from one project I just completed involving metal work. I have used it for carving a little lizard and it was a real pleasure with the flex shaft and sanding drums. I have a lot of sanding drums and mandrels that are not made by Dremel, they are way cheaper and you may wish to look for options when replacing accessories as Dremel are so expensive. On the other hand the Dremel attachments are well made and I think they are also good value for money.I purchased the set with the wall mount because it was actually cheaper than the set without due to an offer at the time. Personally, I think the wall mount is fiddly to place the tool in to and take it out of and will not be using it. It does however make placing everything into the hard plastic case much easier and keeps it neat and tidy. Just something to think about. Also in my opinion, the only attachment you really need to buy is the Flex Shaft, so you should consider whether to go for a smaller set depending on what you want to use it for. I am happy with this set and do not regret buying it. It is a great starter set and is capable of so many different tasks straight out of the box. There is also the reassurance of buying a Dremel Rotary Tool!

Brilliant bit of kit
Excellent little machine that I use for a whole host of little jobs , I find the mains powered better for that little bit more power , my 3 dremel now and they havnt changed, stick to genuine dremel tools there are alot of cheaper ones around but the performance of a dremel far out shines them definitely worth paying abit more for

Great Tool - Don't use it to replace a toilet seat
Got this tool as it was recommended to remove a very inaccessible plastic nut , which held the toilet seat on.This tool is very easy to use, even though it came with no instructions. You tube vids helped me figure it out.The easy fit cutting disks are great ( it comes with 2 of these).... but the plastic toilet nut broke one.don't even try the paper thin 250cutting disks for this job... they shatter.i ended up just using an old soldering iron to melt the plastic nut off , and then prying it up from the top. ... in case anyone has to change their toilet seat. This Dremel 4000 Rotary Tool 175 W, Rotary Multi Tool Kit with 4 Attachment 65 Accessories is a great piece to add to your collection. I can well see me using this in the summer months for many projects.Especially after i get some practice in with the many different heads. The box it comes in has a guide to the uses of the different heads on the back of it.Yes i would recommend this tool. It may not have done what i bought it for, but i can see me using it for many many more fun projects.

Powerful
This is the first venture into the Dremel brand but not this style of tool as ive always purchased cheaper off brand versions.Im pleased to report that the difference between a real Dremel and the tools and attachmnets provided is considerable .The Dremel itself is a beast compared to my off brand copy and so much more powerful and well made both cosmetically and in hand feel.On mine the lowest speed setting causing the motor rpm to waver a little so ill have to keep an eye on that but this maybe normal .Really pleased i picked this up during Amazon day deals and lookimg forward to years of use out of it.

Great for making Jewellery, shaping and polishing silver and copper
I bought this to assist in Jewellery making having first borrowed the rechargeable 8200 version from a friend to see if it was the type of thing I required. I went for this corded version in this package as it is supplied with the flexible shaft and the shaping platform. As you would expect the unit seems well built and the design well thought out, it has a great range of speed and is perfectly suited to shaping, sanding and polishing both silver and copper Jewellery. A lot of people advise changing the standard 3mm collet for the chuck but all the mounted tools I have used are 3mm anyway so changing couldn't be easier left as it is. The only thing im not so sure about is the blue plastic holster that made this set about £5 more than the other set in the grey case, I thought it would hold the Dremel rigid on the bench so I could hold the work piece in two hands, but it does not, I guess it is just designed as a tidy to be screwed to the wall or for when using the flexi-shaft, although I have not tried it in the holster with the flexi-shaft as yet. The only advantage the cordless 8200 version had was it was quite useful to take it outside when the fluff flies off the polishing mop, but the assurance that the battery is not going to suddenly die in the middle of the job makes the 4000 the right choice for me.
