Can you crimp this cable?

I normally buy flat cable and crimp myself because it's nicer. Absolutely do NOT recommend doing that with this product. The wires inside the cable are so insanely small that it makes it extremely difficult to sleeve it into the slots of the rj45 connector. Not to mention the cable itself is significantly thinner than most other flat cables, meaning it the sleeving doesn't even catch on rj45 connectors when you crimp as well. 0/5 do not recommend for custom lengths/crimping.

Can it be used outside

I would not use it outdoors without putting it inside a conduit designed specifically for the environment (wall mount rigid or flexible; underground, etc.) and using watertight connections. Any type of cable is susceptible to ultraviolet; over time the jacketing breaks down and you have water intrusion where it shouldn't be. This is true for flat and round cable. Then, of course, you have people with shovels or other sharp objects like a carelessly placed nail or staple that can quickly end your ethernet connection. A conduit for outside installations is really the best way to go.That being said, here in Florida the cable companies don't think twice about laying coax or fibre on top of the ground and calling it a day.
