Professional slicing right at home!
This food slicer is fantastic for slicing deli meats, cheeses, or fresh bread to the exact thickness you want. The blade cuts smoothly and efficiently, and the adjustable dial makes switching settings incredibly easy. It’s heavy-duty but surprisingly easy to clean after use.

Great value, does the job, easy to clean and store
I have wanted a (meat) slicer for quite a while. The weight, size and expenses is what deterred me. We are not heavy users - maybe once a week for a ham, chicken or turkey. Other small stuff occasionally. This is perfect. Compact, light and easy to use and clean (maybe 1 minute to clean it). If you want the razor thin deli meat, you'll have to spend up, this is not a fit for you. Probably gets to 2x deli thickness.

Better than I expected.
I've been smoking food for about 6 years now, and in the last 2 years I've gotten into curing and smoking pork bellies for our own bacon. I've done two 10-pounders over the last couple of years that I hand-sliced, and cutting that way is a *major* pain - physically hard work, and almost impossible to maintain consistent thickness of slices. My sister-in-law saw and suggested this device, and we thought we'd give it a try. It was inexpensive enough to take a chance on, though that same price was also a point of concern, lest the thing be too light-duty to slice these bellies well. But it turned out to work just fine. We sliced about 9 pounds of pork the other evening in less time than it would have taken me to hand-slice a quarter of that amount. I was impressed with it, I'll tell you. The blade spins slower than I expected, but it's fast enough to do the job. You could hear the pitch of the motor change when the blade hit the meat, but I never got the sense that it was straining or unable to handle the resistance. Between that, and the smooth operation of the carriage's sliding mechanism, the whole thing went quickly and easily. Quibbles I can live with: 1) its motor is loud. It may not seem that way at first, but after several minutes of slicing, you'll find it wearing on you a bit. Probably ends up being a good thing that it needs occasional rest to prevent overheating. 2) It has limited physical capacity - the carriage only moves clear of the blade far enough to slice items about 6 or 7 inches in width. We had to take the bellies, which are about 10 inches wide, and cut them down the middle in order to have pieces that could fit the slicer. 3) The on/off switch is recessed in a cavity too narrow to operate with a knuckle (my fingers were greasy from the pork, so I didn't want to use them). 4) Even after disassembling the blade, carriage and safety guard for washing, there are obviously still other non-removable surfaces on the machine that need attention. That's not unexpected. What annoyed me is the number of small nooks and crannies where little bits of food managed to hide. Cleaning has to be painstaking. 5) I don't know what will happen when the blade dulls. It's serrated, so even if I had great knife-sharpening skills and equipment, I don't know that I could do it. Whether a replacement will be available when we get to that point is anyone's guess.

Great for slicing sour dough bread if that is what you are buying it for
We bought this Cuisinart food slicer specifically to cut sour dough bread. It works great for that. I make 500g loaves and the round loaves may need you to squeeze in the sides a bit at the widest part in order to fit it in the space allocated, however it works just fine. The adjustable thickness dial also works great and does not move when slicing, it would have been nice if the notches were labeled for thickness. Also I need to remove the plastic safety guard to hold the loaf until it gets small enough to add the guard back but that is no big deal since you hands are nowhere near the blade at any time provided you add the guard back in once the loaf is small enough. I cannot comment on slicing meat or cheese at this time since I really bought it to slice bread and it works great especially for the price vs a commercial bread slicer. It is also lightweight and not to large to store in my kitchen cabinet.

Will do its job if you baby it
I often look for an inexpensive version of a product when I first buy a new gadget. This was a starter slicer to see if we actually use it and if it saves us money by buying meat and cheese in bulk. Maybe I put too much faith in the brand, but this slicer didn't meet my expectations. Right away, we could tell that the slicer was too lightweight and would move around too much when slicing anything hard. Most of its components are plastic, including some of the internal parts, which ended up being its downfall. The motor is just not very strong, so while it seemed to work fine on meat, it bogged down badly when slicing cheese. I like to freeze meat slightly before slicing it, but this thing couldn't handle that. The thickness adjustment knob has no indicators on it, so we had to make some marks at different depths to get consistent results. It lasted about a year before the insides melted. We used it enough that I feel a new one is justified, but this time, I'll look for a professional version that will last.

Better than I had hoped for
This is a review on Amazon and the slicer itself. First Amazon. I ordered this slicer on February 6, 2024 and I received it on February 8, 2024. So Amazon gets five stars. As far as the slicer goes. I voted only one other slicer prior to buying this. It was an older slicer which required you to hold the power button in while slicing, which made it very difficult to use. This slicer has an on off switch so you don’t have to use one of your hands to hold down the on button to use it. For this reason it is so much easier to use than my older model. I used it for the first time on February 9, 2024 and I was amazed by how easy it is to use. I sliced some ham and turkey and they came out beautifully. And then slice some apples and I was amazed how nice they were.If I could give it a six star I would. While I cannot give a rating for the longevity of this slicer, I can’t wait to try it on other things.

The best thing since -- sliced bread!
I thought I was falling out of love with my bread machine because I couldn't slice the loaves evenly with ANY of the knives/slicing guides I tried. It was impossible for me to hold the loaf firmly enough or the knife steadily enough, so I started buying my bread again. But then I bought this "meat" slicer and found out that's all I was missing. This great machine cuts bread to any thickness I want, is so easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store, and works so fast. I could never do by hand what this does in 5 minutes (trust me, I know). I don't eat meat, so it didn't occur to me how useful a meat slicer could be. This is a game-changer in the breadmaking world!

Not bad for the price, the thickness gauge flexes under pressure
It works as described, but it's a little fraught. There's no great place to hold it, and it tends to slide across my counter when you apply pressure to slice. Also, the slicing guard tends to flex with pressure, so you wind up with slices that are thicker at the top than at the bottom. Not bad for the price, but a little disappointing. Still, I buy top round from Costco and sous-vide it, then slice it up for roast beef. It is significantly less expensive than deli, and you can completely control what goes into your sandwich meat.
