Ecellent quad - probably best for people who have flown already or want a challenge
Full disclosure: I'm writing this review having used the Hubsan X4 H107C version, not H107L. They are supposed to be similar models with the C standing for "Camera". I got this for my dad for christmas and haven't had a chance to fly this particular model yet. However, I can say for anyone looking for a good bang-for-your buck quadcopter this is line pretty awesome. It's very agile and snappy, so much that it would probably be a poor idea for younger kids, or people who aren't used to piloting remote controlled quads/airplanes/anything. There will definitely be a learning curve. But once you start to get the hang of it these quads are super fun. Also small enough to fly indoors while powerful enough to fly outdoors without too much wind. Pretty durable: every now and then you have to pop a piece of plastic back together, but aside from the occasional prop guard or prop I haven't significantly damaged anything on mine.I'd say that the camera version was fun as a novelty for about a week. But really this line of quads is meant to be flown like an R/C airplane or car: fast, fun, lots of hands on piloting, very eratic and not good for video, not like a more traditional and expensive "drone" that has lots of stabilization and can be given more simple commands that it automatically navigates while taking nice video. Though the battery life is good for it's size, it's still only a few minutes, you may want extra batteries. That is one of the reasons I opted for no camera this time: any weight you can scrape off adds flight time. It's worth noting that this does not have some more advanced features such as altitude hold or headless mode. Despite these being technologically more advanced they are more for helping beginners so I opted for this on purpose as it is more fun to fly once you learn to pilot it (in my opinion). Hubsan does make the 107p that includes altitude hold, but others have said it's not as quick and agile. If you're nervous about learning, the Syma X5 is very stable and a great quad to learn on. If you want to have a lot of fun, get the Hubsan X5. If you want something that you don't have to pilot and takes great video - expect to spend closer to the $200-$600 price range.I was offered free product in exchange for this review, but this will be the 4th quad in this line I have purchased because I like them to begin with.

Awesome value and very fun.
I got the X4 (H107L) coming from the Holy Stone Predator (HS170). Same motors, same size, same top shell, but very different flying experiences. Although both very fun for their own reasons, the more I fly the X4 the less I fly the Predator. The X4 feels like it has a higher overall skill ceiling. Twitchier and more responsive, but can also crash if you throw the controls around too fast, that is not a complaint it just means you're in more control and shouldn't jerk it around too fast causing it to crash! It's a lot less tame and requires you to be more respectful of the controls (especially with sensitivities turned up high). You can adjust sensitivities for rudder (yaw), aileron (left and right), and elevator (forward and back). The transmitter remembers your sensitivity preferences. It also remembers your trim settings so you don't have to keep doing it every time you start the quad back up which is very nice. With sensitivities turned up high the quad becomes more capable but also touchier. The yaw can be turned up crazy high, so if you want a fast yaw you'll like this quad. Personally I keep the yaw on 75 and the other two settings on 100. The transmitter is very nice, there is almost no "dead zone" for rudder, aileron, or elevator controls. Because of this you have really fine control, it doesn't do nothing then suddenly move too fast. If you were to barely nudge the right stick it will barely move in the appropriate direction, same with yaw. Can't say the same for the Predator which has this problem on the right stick for aileron and elevator.Replacement parts are cheap. If you ruin a motor fear not, here's your opportunity to learn a new skill and start soldering. If you decide to get the X4 I recommend you use the Holy Stone Predator (HS170) propellers. They are a little larger and will give you a little more power, stability in the wind, and increase the battery life a little. I think Hubsan should start equipping the X4 with these props right out of the box. If Hubsan reads this I ask them to try those props out on the X4 and see for themselves.

Neat little flyer
I'll admit, I hated this thing at first until I learned how to adjust the rates. Unfortunately the rates in "normal" mode can only go up to 60% but that can make for very good indoor flights. In Expert mode they can go up to 100%. That is good and bad. The good... You can do some insane flying and even do manual flips by pitching and rolling in different directions really fast. I actually discovered this by accident. It takes a lot of practice and is almost like acro flying (not quite) but it is not button press flipping. Another good thing is it helps when flying outside on a windy day to have those high rates although it still struggles in strong wind. The bad... If you want to do some normal fast flying you better be good at it because it is almost uncontrollable (which is why I hated this thing at first) but I got use to it and now it is awesome. I found the sweet spot to be between 85 and 88%. Another thing I hated about it was the way it drifts in the direction you last inputted until you give it another direction. Not good for indoor flights unless you get good and fast with pitch and roll and use that awesome yaw to your advantage. That is another this that is awesome, the yaw. Even in normal it is pretty fast and in Expert mode it's even faster. Another good thing is there are a never ending supply of batteries for this thing here on Amazon. I don't know the range on the controller as I don't fly these micros far anyway. I only have it for stars because of the drifting but it is still a fun little flyer.
