Useless
Simply doesn’t work, permanently gets stuck in any corner of the pool. I have a small 4x2 meter pool and left to it’s own devices I think it would take weeks to clean the bottom of the pool!

Did not climb walls or go from deep end to shallow end- very disappointed and returned.
Called Pentair and did everything they asked. I had 2 suction cleaners over the many years of owning a pool and this just did not work at all.

Best pool cleaner ever
We have had pools for over 40 years and have had many different pool cleaners - the Sandshark is the absolute best. It is quiet, covers the entire pool without getting stuck and never needs repair/parts. I would suggest cleaning your filters then using the flow adjustment tool that is included to adjust the vacuum/flow rate - after adjusting- which only takes a few minutes- my Sandshark climbs the walls and stops 6 inches from the top and heads back down without sucking air. This unit replaced the old one that lasted 7 years. Unit is already assembled and includes excellent hoses and many attachments for different ways to hook up

You get what you pay for.
My original sand shark stopped working properly after 8 years of use so I thought I'd try the cheaper lil shark offered by pentair. Despite trying all of the suggestions in the manual it would just get stick on the floor drain and sit there. I decided to return it and get another sand shark. After a minute or so of sitting in front of the floor drain or steps it turns away and moves on to another area. The entire surface of the pool floor was cleaned of debris in a about 2 hours. Glad to have a cleaner that actually works again.

Not the quality they used to be!
I have owned two of these Sandsharks and for the most part got good use out of them. I am not one to take the cleaners out when I chlorinate so the life of my cleaners is reduced. I got 3 years out of them (both died at two months apart). I figured I go and purchase a new one, the cost had increased over the two years and now they are over $350 bucks YIKES! Still I like them and they worked fine with few repair parts needed in that 3 years. Here is where they get you and in most industries repairs parts are a BIG money maker for and the warranty only covers 1 year, nothing goes bad in one year and they know it.Pentair Sandshark customer service is not very customer focused and most issues they tell you to go to an authorized repair service. Once the authorized repair service knows your warranty is expired be ready for the big bill! So I learned how to change most parts and purchased them on Amazon. The flaps go first they only last perhaps 18 months or so and will set you back $20 to 30 bucks. The next repair part are the gears if they strip you need to replace them by buying A KIT. Kits are not cheap $65 and up. The bright side the hoses are still pretty good after three years. In the end, I sent the new cleaner back as it was constantly getting stuck on the stairs. This did not happen with the previous cleaners and no matter what I did, lay the hoses out in the sun, reduce - decrease suction you name it, the cleaner got stuck! So back in went to Amazon. I love the Amazon replacement or money back policy. As Paul Harvey would stay, " here is the rest of the story. I searched for a new cleaner and was astounded with the prices of most cleaners that are just plastic. I said no way am I am going to spend $350 to $1,500 on a pool cleaner. the markup on these tings are HUGE. So I found a cheap China Knockoff of a Barracuda G6. I was concerned at first, most products form China are junk and poorly made. I took a giant leap and ordered one, it arrived 2 to 3 days later. I set out to put it together and found that while it may be a great quality cleaner it was pretty darn good for $75! I am writing this almost 6 months after I installed the China knockoff cleaner, in the 6 months the cleaner has performed wonderfully. I had a small issue at first and emailed customer service, they responded the next day and sent me out the replacement part. I owned a Barracuda G6, the part that dies most often is the diaphragm. Just like a G6 the cleaners diaphragm died after 6 months. Once again I emailed the company and they will be shipping me a replacement at no charge as the cleanser comes with a 12 month guarantee. The diaphragms today are relatively inexpensive, 2 for 10 bucks on Amazon. Put one it and back to work the cleaner went. Happy with my purchase and if I get 3 years out of it, I will be trilled!!!!OK so you now ask, what did you buy? I bought a Vingli cleaner on amazon for $75 bucks. Happy Camping....
