If you have the means...
I bought my first GMT Master in 1986 it is stainless steel. This watch and the bracelet are solid 18K gold. It is over 200 grams and since there are 454 grams in a pound you can tell the timepiece is very substantial. The odd thing is, since this is gold it feels much lighter on your arm. It won't wake you up in the middle of the night the way some stainless steel watches will. On the con side, it is very expensive. But, as they say, you will know where the money went every time you look at your watch. Beautiful!
