This is definitely a fun and relaxing read, with a healthy dose of tension and heartache
Carrie Elks writes adorably sweet stories, and this enemies-to-lovers story can be added to the list. This book focuses on Ember’s friend Ally Sutton, and new-to-town Nate Crawford.Nate is a successful business owner of a franchise of coffee shops. He’s also a single father of a traumatized teenage girl. When things escalate, he uproots his life to personally oversee the remodeling and opening of his latest acquisition. This happens to be the family owned coffee shop in Angel Sands which Ally has been struggling to run. Ally is understandably upset at having the coffee shop sold from under her, but accepts the manager position. An unfortunate mishap forces Ally and Nate into close quarters for a few weeks. This proves a great opportunity to get to know each other better, and it doesn’t take long for sparks to fly.Ally is quite set in her ways, also as a coping mechanism stemming from her childhood. This makes her stubborn at times, so I wasn’t always able to agree with her reasoning. She’s great at giving advice to her friends, but has trouble seeing her own truths. She’s instantly attracted to Nate, but fights it with all she’s got at first. For one, he’s her new boss. For another, he’s taken over her coffee shop, and she doesn’t want to jump into bed with her perceived enemy.Nate finds himself enjoying the hands-on work of getting the new coffee shop up and running. He’s been away from the action for quite some time, having built up his franchise empire. He’s also enjoying small town life, but still needs to adjust some of his big city ways. He’s also dealing with a rebellious and heartbroken teen, not making life easier. While he’s immediately attracted to Ally, he doesn’t want to jeopardize their working relationship.Keep on dreaming, kids.I like how Ally befriended Nate’s daughter Riley. Having gone through a similar situation, she relates to the girl and gets her to open up a bit, improving her relationship with Nate. I understand that she’s reluctant to act on her attraction to Nate, not wanting to alienate Riley. I think they both underestimate the girl, and her reaction when she eventually finds out is very understandable. They both make some not-so-smart decisions during the story, but the important part is how they try to fix their mistakes. And that is done beautifully.

Beautiful story, I loved it!
She's Like The Wind was an absolute breath of fresh air!Set in Angel Sands, this story is everything that I love about small town romance, from the beautiful beach, to the vision in my head of the ocean, and to the friendly locals that all get along and look out for each other. Ally's story was such a great read, so much so that it was extremely hard to put down. She's been running her father's beach cafe and trying to keep it afloat for a very long time after he took off and left her behind to go travel the world, when suddenly she finds out that he has sold the cafe without telling her she gets the shock of her life. Enter the new owner Nate Crawford and his teenage daughter Riley and it quickly becomes pretty clear that working together is going to be so hard for them to stay away from each other as the physical attraction between them is torturing them both not to act upon it. Ally's at the edge of despair, she's down and doesn't know what to do, but when Nate comes along she finds that change is good sometimes and it brings her all the things that she's been missing out on.Nate is such a swoon worthy hero, he's so gallant and chivalrous stepping up when Ally needs him to but no hero comes without flaws. Ally I love her for her strong personality and her caring nature. She is still a girl at heart that understands just what Riley is going through and you feel the connection that they both have with each other because of it.Carrie Elks has written a wonderful story full of love and emotions, the book flowed so well with a story that I got utterly swept up in. Nate and Ally's love story is one that is so very special that it's one of my favorite books that i've read this year.
