Hobart770487 Gasless Fluxed Cored Nozzle for Handler 125 EZ (Тhrее Расk)

Made of plastic.
This is the nozzle used for flux-cored welding with your Hobart Handler Model 125-210. I own a Hobart Handler 210, which I happily purchased from Amazon. The large opening is 0.5625", while the smaller opening is 0.2695" with an overall length of 1.4785". This tip allows you to weld flux cored wire without getting all of the splatter inside of the MIG gas nozzle.Downfall is, this is made of some high temperature resistant plastic. Dropping it on the floor may render it useless. I will update this review when I have used it more. The bottom picture with three nozzles in a row, from left to right: left one is the Hobart 770404 MIG nozzle, the middle one is from ebay, and the one on the right is this item, the flux-cored nozzle 770487.

Worked perfectly on the Handler 140
Decided to try this nozzle to teach my son to weld, he was having a hard time with his positioning with the gas nozzle. This nozzle helped him see his wire much easier, we are using flux core wire due to the complex and expensive welding gas acquisition and the fact that he is burning up spools of wire mastering his new found passion.

Hobart 770487 Gasless Fluxed Cored Nozzle
This nozzle was a perfect fit for the H10 MIG gun on my Hobart 140 Handler. The nozzle is made of black Bakelite plastic with a brass inner lining. It press fits over the tip of the gun just like the MIG nozzle does and stays securely in place. It has a lip that covers the shielding gas holes that are not needed when using flux core wire and tend to get plugged up with deposits. It also makes it easier to gauge the length of wire stick-out which is usually longer when using flux core to help prevent the wire from fusing itself to the contact tip.

Impressed
I have only used it a few times but I really like it. Seems durable enough. It’s on a Hobart 140 handler that I use for corrals, gates, and fences. Before I bough this, I tried just leaving the gas nozzle on, and then taking the nozzle off completely, and either of those options are a mess. This is working well.

Boy did this tip get eaten up!
I was amazed at how quickly this tip became not just pitted, but areas larger than a bb seemed to be eaten right out of it. I am resolved to make do with the larger brass nozzle than try this one again. I guess for those rare applications where you simply must get tighter into a sharp angle for a single weld, it would come into play, and might be useful as a throw away nozzle as long as one does not try to get more than a job or two out of it.

Works well
This is for flux core welding so this part protects the gas nozzle that the tip screws into. It’s a consumable item and will last only so long when welding thicker materials. If it weren’t for my poor skills I wouldn’t need to replace as a often as I do.

Good, functional, cheap.
Fits my Hobart Handler 125 (NOT THE 125 EZ, JUST STRAIGHT 125) just fine.

Not recommended, I wish they made one out of some ...
Lasted me about 1 week worth of vertical and horizontal welding. I was making a custom grill for my uncle, and as I was welding vertical the slag from the flux core would build up on it and start to melt and destroy the nozzle. Now half the nozzle is gone just from welding one week. Not recommended, I wish they made one out of some sort of metal, I don't understand why they would make it out of plastic when we are working with extremely hot temperatures.
