DIYers Rejoice
I ordered orange and iron grey. The orange looks more like a neon orange and the iron grey looks like a dark charcoal grey (see pics). They both measured ~62" x 38" with about an inch on either ends being frayed and unusable (see pics for what I had to cut off the end); I assume from getting cutting to length. One side is shinier than the other (has a DWR- durable water repellant), so take that into consideration when sewing cause you want the shinier side facing outwards. Here's where the backpackers will really get excited: the entire sheet weighs only 68g or 2.4oz! I made 2 stuff sacks with 550paracord drawstrings that weigh 2oz each! (See pics)Now for how it sews. It is very thin and plasticky. On my Singer heavy duty, it still managed to sew easily without needing parchment paper. Set the tension super low or it can get sucked into the machine. Just for reference I'm using a 40s/2 100% polyester thread.Overall, I will definitely be ordering more colors and highly recommend for anyone looking to make their own backpacking gear.
