Does what it’s supposed to… but
Does not work with high powered vacuums, the hoses collapse and suck the whole thing up to the vacuum. Lid does not seal the best, but easily fixed with a salvaged 5 gallon bucket lid rubber seal. If your vacuum is high powered you will need a metal bucket, plastic ones will implode and cause the seals to fail.

Probably worth paying for a more expensive system
I've just been getting into woodworking and figuring out what kind of equipment I need. This system is durable, and came with all the hoses and stuff that I needed. It's not the best solution to the problem though. It does catch the bigger pieces, but a lot of dust is still getting through to my shop vac. I Jerry rigged up a system using some aluminum flashing in a 2.5 gallon bucket with a hole in the bottom nested into a five gallon bucket, and that has helped catch more sawdust. I wish I would have just gotten one of the more expensive systems with the actual cyclone built in.Still, if you're on a budget, this helps, and all the pieces are sturdy and strong, and this is a solid product.

Fair Warning for Large ShopVac
If you have a larger 6hp or so Shopvac, while this has no problem sucking stuff through, you might end up collapsing your 5 Gal bucket like I did! Specifically the blue home improvement store buckets! Otherwise, this does what it states, at least from what I can tell, I just gotta find a better bucket that won't collapse under pressure!

Bad idea
The top has a very poor seal. Every time I tried to lift the top to move the bucket to a project the whole thing would fall apart. Unfortunately I had been out of town for a while, by the time I was able to use it, it was too late to return it. Maybe the hoses and fittings can still be used however the lid is just worthless. BAD IDEA!!!

A great way to start out wood working
I know some people have issues with the 5 gallon bucket but I had the Chemical Guy wash bucket that fits perfectly and is smaller in height which helps it from not tipping over as easily as the taller Lowes 5 gallon ones.Edit #1: I still like using this setup. After a while the top would pop open a little bit if the bucket got to full. The only thing that I did was secure the lid to the bucket by using two latches to keep the seal.

Should fit better
The top fit very loosely over the standard orange box store 5 gallon bucket, the diameter is too large. I did buy the bucket 5 years ago, but I doubt the dimensions have changed. I had to add insulation foam tape around the rim to make it even close to snug. Also, the tubing retracts very heavily under the suction of the vacuum, it does not stay in an expanded state well, like other tubing that I have. Parts should fit and function better for the price.
