Royal & Langnickel Essentials Color Pencil Set, 24/pkg

Beautiful colors. Vibrant. I wanted to get a larger variety of colors for the coloring that we do and chose these pencils. I do think the colors are nice, I was hoping for more variety, but these were just fine.

The pencils are nice enough. I bought a couple of these for gifts so I can't speak for all of the boxes, but at least one of the boxes was short a couple of pencils. I am sure they were colors I wouldn't need anyway. :-)

Great little set of pencils, I'm not sure on the full spectrum of application techniques that can be used with these but I did briefly test them before giving them as a gift. Plain coloring they lay down decent pigment with no pressure, in addition to that they do work similar to watercolor pencils. It doesn't say they're watercolor however you can dip them in water, apply a wet brush over the tips prior to applying to paper which gives really rich pigment, or color and apply water with brush however if using the last technique don't expect the lines to completely dissolve, maybe if page is prepped with gesso first but straight watercolor paper the lines will remain but only faintly. So may not be watercolor pencils but they are soft core and can be used like watercolor pencils as I've done with my shuttle art 120 set. For being a small set of 24 the option of colors are really good and blend well so color mixing to create new shades is another option. Got these for a friend to use with her journaling bible but would make a great practice or even portable field sketch set.

I have a lot of complicated ,'adult' coloring books. Stuff like dragons and Indian Mandalas. I needed a good set of colored pencils, that did not cost an arm and a leg, to enjoy coloring these pictures. I find it helps with stress and keeps my creative juices flowing. The pencils blend well so the colors you can make are endless. To blend you can use an eraser, your fingers, put one color right on top of the other, my cat got into one project just by rubbing her nose and paw on a color she really liked.I will advise to put the pencils in the freezer for about 30 minutes before you sharpen them, just like you would an eyeliner. You get a much sharper tip when the 'lead'? is icy cold. The box and plastic tray they came fell apart right away. But that's not why we buy colored pencils. As long as the price stays the same, I will buy them again.

These were pretty disappointing. The colors are very pretty but the lead breaks constantly. I feel like I have wasted most of my pencils trying to sharpen them on picture.I would give this rating a 1 star but the fact that they do have pretty colors gives then the second star.I would not recommend.

Adult coloring

I like these colored pencils they are great for the price. Easy to work with. The only problem I have is that they don't blend with well with other colored pencils but with the variety of colors I rarely need my other sets colored pencils.

I bought this set to color my card projects after stamping, good price + sufficient color collection. Easy to sharpen and colors blended well w/ or wo/ paint brushes. One color pencil came with a broken tip but the others were good.

Used for adult colouring and sharpen well

Great price and amazing quality ! I bought my niece a set but tried it first and then I decided to keep for myself and ordered another one for my niece. You go to places like Michaels and they charge so much and this is truly a great deal for the price. I'm starting to draw myself.

Perfect for what I need

Well worth it for the price. The leads are a bit too hard for my preferences, but that's a personal matter, and the price more than makes up for it.
