Great 11th Gen Intel budget CPU - great for gaming
This is a review of the 2 intel components I bought at the same time, being the Intel Core i5 11400 and Gigabyte Z590i Aorus Ultra motherboard.I’ve been using AMD for a couple of years and think that their products still represent great value for money. However, over the last 6 months, I’ve been looking to downsize my daily driver and media PC. I managed to secure a Gigabyte X570i Aorus Pro wifi motherboard last autumn at a great price, but since then I’d not been able to get another AMD AM4 ITX motherboard at reasonable price.I had to think that in the current market, there wasn’t any more value in sticking with AMD, as supply was shortening and prices were being scalped again.I’d looked at the AsRock B550 mITX-AC and although ordered, I returned it as it wasn't anywhere near my X570 board in terms of features, performance or value for money. The price of other AMD ITX boards was getting ridiculous so a look at Intel was certainly worth considering.I have to say that although these products are a couple of generations behind current releases, at the prices I got these components for they still represent good performance and great value for money. As a combo, they work really well together. The BIOS of the motherboard lets the CPU run free to its boost clocks and I’ve not seen them drop from 4.2 GHz. I would expect a B560 board to drop down to the stock clocks.Power consumption is a lot higher however. My AMD set up would run around 10w on low CPU usage, whereas this combo runs between 25 – 30w. I’ve not tested many games but would expect that there isn't any performance compromise between this platform and an X570/Ryzen 5 platform, and if there was, it wouldn't be noticeable. To summarise, I’m really happy with them both

Fantastic CPU
Came well packaged. It's perfect for a mid-range build and good value for money. I paired it with an Asus Tuf b560m wifi motherboard and very happy with the performance for my daily, personal computing needs. Highly recommend!

Perfection
For my needs this processor is perfection!Cheap, fast and runs cool, even with middle of the road air cooling. Posts much better numbers than my older gen i7 4790. Obviously the newer motherboard and DDR4 will be helping also. But still, there's real world improvement over a previous generation top dog.

First one threw a fan blade, second one underperforms
(On mobile sorry for bad formatting)Bought this when my motherboard died and I decided to overhaul my whole pc, first cpu ran fine for about 2 hours then threw a fan blade so I got a replacement which worked fine for a while but then the pc began to crash when the cpu was under loaded (ran fine if a cpu intensive game was running but the pc crashed whenever it went onto standby), now I regularly have a maximum frequency of 44% usage with cpu temps easily hitting three times the motherboard temp even when I’m only in the boot menu making the cpu a downgrade from my previous one and I’m fairly certain it’s an issue with the cpu fan rather than the pc case because taking the entire side off the case barely makes a difference.

Good mid budget processor
Did fair bit of research and this chip (Intel i5 11400) came out very well regarded in terms of cost to performance, especially single core prowess.Delivered in good time and exceptionally well protected, smothered in bubble wrap ( 5* to Scan Computers ) .Installed and functioning well, no issues.
