Unicorn Diaries, Books 1-5: A Branches Box Set

I absolutely love this book series. It is perfect for 6 and 7-year-old girls. I would say my daughter reads at a second grade level and she is able to read these books on her own with no problem. She loves that the pages are very colorful and I feel like there's the perfect amount of words on each page. The chapters are short which is great because she loves to stop at the next chapter sometimes to save her spot and read later.

I tried starting my 6 year old daughter on a few other chapter books but she was having difficulty focusing and finishing it. It may have been a lack of interest in the story line. I saw a recommendation for this set and decided to try it out. With the first book, my daughter did not want to stop. She started reading as soon as she got home from school and continued reading after dinner. The stories were easy for her to follow and understand, which helps keep her interested in reading. This set has increased her reading time daily and meeting all the requirements for her school. It was a great investment knowing that it made my daughter want to read more often.

These are such great books for my 8-year old! These were purchased as part of a gift but also to help enhance her joy of reading. They are perfect for her reading level and she is able to read them independently with very little help. We both love the fun stories and the creative use of graphics to help enhance reader enjoyment.

My daughter just turned 5 and I got these for her birthday. She absolutely loves them! I read 1 books a week to her for story time, and we are already going back through them again. I will be buying the next set.

If you have a younger daughter, buy it. They will enjoy reading!

We found this book series originally at our local library, and our daughter requested that we add them to our reserve list so frequently, we decided they deserved a permanent place on her bookshelf. She's also shared them with friends, and we've gifted several sets to her friends for birthdays.With fun illustrations on each page, age-appropriate/cute challenges for the unicorns to solve, and a vibrant cast of characters/creatures, and a diary-style narration, this has been a great addition to our bedtime story rotation.And as a beginning reader, my daughter is starting to take over some of the reading from us as she gains confidence and mastery over her high-frequency words.
