These beads are great for a heavy duty chewer. My 11 year old took almost a week to break down a bead to the point where he could bite it off. This may not sound like much, but this is a record! Other chewy necklaces were bit through within an hour, no more than a day.The reason for the lower-star review is the clasp. The clasp does NOT stay stiff and the necklace starts to fall off rather quickly. This fact deterred my child from wearing it as he was afraid to lose it, and went back to shirt-chewing.

I bought these for my 4-1/2 yo twins who are on the autism spectrum. I usually purchase the necklaces that just have one chew piece in different shapes, shark tooth, Lego, Dino, etc. I never purchased this necklace despite having seen it bc I didn’t think they would like the chewys being smaller and all over the necklace. However, recently my son has begun to push the other smaller single chewy pieces to the back of his throat to make himself gag. We had to take those away and find an alternative bc without chewelry he will chew holes in his shirt. I was a little reluctant but purchased two of these style necklaces. And let me tell you, I wish I had done this sooner. My boys LOVE them. We have had them for one week and there is no damage to the necklace yet. (My son chewed the shark tooth necklace in half in one day....) They wear them for the whole day, except during mealtime, which means they get a LOT of use. I will update if/when they break or become damaged. But, so far, this has far exceeded my expectations!!!***Update*** 3/2/21Well, the necklace lasted one week for one of my boys. He began to break the beads and could pull them off, obviously a choking hazard, so we had to discontinue using it. I would not recommend this necklace to someone with a child that chews this much or this hard.

My sons finger tips were always red, rough and sometimes bleeding before this purchase. He has been wearing his necklace for about a month and it has helped enormously with his problem and his hands are almost healed. We will be replacing his necklace because he is an excessive chewier and broke roughly 8 beads off.

It's a great concept and would work well for a more moderate chewer. My son started chewing on the cord of his headset for Online classes and chewed through so I got this to save the next headset I bought. Unfortunately my son chewed through that too. He hasn't chewed on anything for years but based on this, I'd say he's a heavy chewer so I'm getting one of the products meant for that. Otherwise it's a great concept and the cord is nice and strong and has a good safety break away. I'd recommend!

My son was so happy to get this necklace. He has ADHD and SPD, he needs something to keep his mind busy while concentrating on his schoolwork. He’s 12 and was embarrassed that he was chewing on his shirt collar. The colors and texture are perfect for him. I bought the dog tags as well, which is equally awesome. Please consider this product if you have a child like mine who gnaws on pencils, pens, fingernails, shirt collars and sleeves or their own lips. It is easily washed and sturdy enough to stand up to my aggressive chewer, bonus that it has no stinky plastic smell, which would have sent my son running the other direction!

I got this for my 6yr old son who has significant issues focusing on one task for any length of time. When he started kindergarten, he was having issues staying on task and was creating issues in his class. After discussing the issue with his teacher and his doctor, it was determined he needed a fidget toy of some kind to help him. Since toys are not an option in a kindergarten class, we decided to try this chewable necklace. My son was a bit hesitant at first, but after the first day, he was asking for it in the morning as part of getting dressed. He loves having it and his teacher said he is like a completely different child. This necklace has been exactly what he needed.

I ordered both the necklace and the bracelet. They are both made very well, the colors are very nice easy to put on and take off. This is a great for a child with sensory issues bc it allows them to chew when needed whether you are at home or out. I also like it bc now that is approaching 9 years old it does not look like a chew accessory where someone might ask him what he is wearing. It looks like a boys stylish beaded necklace and bracelet. It also comes in a nice zipper pouch to keep it clean when not in use. This is the best chewable sensory necklace and bracelet I have purchased by far and we have gone thru a lot of them. These items were packaged very well and arrived promptly.

I have bought so many different things for my son trying to find stuff that he likes. This is he favorite so far. He won't wear it like a necklace and now has chewed the clasp so can't even if he wanted to. But he still loves to play and chew on it. We have pets. My only complaint is the pet fur gets entwined between the beads on the thread. But otherwise, great find!
