Just received. design is great, except it is slightly too small for everything i take. do you have a bit larger version?

Yes,search B082MFQ3TT, this edition is bigger.

How many pills does each side hold?

Hello,it depends on the sixe of your pills.Normally, each side can hold 8 fish oils.

Love these i bought 4 of these, for me and sister, but on a trip i lost a saturday, so i bought another week anyway to buy just a saturday?

I bought a new one because I lost one of the days and i think its worth it (versus buying an individual day if they even offer it) just to have the other days available too - ill grab the missing day from my backup case and then when i find missing one it goes into backup case for when i need it again.

I am having a very very hard time opening the black carrying box. Has anyone else had the same problem?

i have no problem opening mine. just pull up on the tab and opens easily. maybe you are holding hand on the part of case that opens. it does make up the majority of the case size.
