I had a situation where my electric wall socket lose power due to the GCI circuit attached to it. I wanted to get alerted when that happened so that I can re-set the GFCI. This product exactly fits the purpose. It does sound loud enough to hear in the house. It initially came faulty and I had to return it and the replacement works fine. It's been few months already since I installed and I am happy with it.

Proven during tests to work immediately on power loss from an Uninterrupted Power System (UPS) where I then backup my CPAP with a portable battery system. It is very loud at night so I covered the speaker with cotton and tape to make it a bit quieter. For the money the performance is excellent and good design with 9 v battery power -- when needed. Further, the power cord makes it easy to connect to a crowded power strip/ UPS outlet.

I bought from Amazon Warehouse, a returned item. Inside the battery compartment, as part of the white molded case, there are raised "+" and "-" battery polarity indicators. It didn't work. I'm an Electrical Engineer. On a lark, I reversed the battery, hoping it had diode protection. It worked perfectly. The markings are switched. It's actually too loud, and an quite annoying sound. Not a pure tone. But it still has to be fairly loud, because it's for the CGFI master circuit that runs to my garage, where my freezer is plugged in. So any time a GFI outlet around a sink, or, more typically, outdoors, would trip, my freezer would shut off. I'm going to tape a ball of cotton from a medicine bottle over the speaker. I wondered what the little hole in the back of the case was for, because I didn't want to cover it with the mounting tape if it was a reset button. I opened it and checked. It's nothing. I see no reason for it to be there, so I'm covering it.

First glitch is that it will give a buzz or small squeal even when power is on and flowing. Second glitch is that I have to turn it off an back on again to get it to stop. This is with no power failure. Third is the power went out yesterday and the box never sounded the alarm. Now when I go to turn it on it give a garbled alarm that sounds like a dying robot. Don’t recommend buying this one. Keep scrolling.

Bought this little gadget to warn us when the garage GFCI trips which is the circuit the garage freezer is on. Last time we lost a bunch of frozen meat before we realized it was off. Sometimes a strong blowing rain storm will cause it to trip, I think its one of the outside outlets getting leaking water in. Anyway, this thing is loud and fires off instantly if the power goes out. No way you could miss it going off. Make sure you don't try to put a nine volt in it even though that's what he battery cavity looks like would go in there. Read the other reviews for more info on this. Does what I needed for cheap.

Almost thought this didn't work until I realized the 9V battery was in upside down. Not my proudest moment. Tested it by turning off the power strip. It was so loud it hurt my ears. I am using it for my cellar fridge and freezer. I will have no trouble hearing it if the power is interrupted to either appliance. Great insurance for the price. Highly recommend.

I don’t think I will use this product because it is so loud, the alarm went off for just a second, once I placed the battery and my ears still hurt 20 mins later. There is also no time limit on the alarm, so if the power goes off when no one is home, it would just be ear shatteringly loud until the power comes on. Not good for pets or neighbors.

If you have a loved one on a medical device that requires electricity you need this product. We just came through the crazy winter Christmas of the Century and was dealing with rolling blackouts. This device saved my Mom's life by letting us know everytime her oxygen was out of power. It's a small amount to pay for peace of mind.

Every spring on the farm we raise baby chicks. Need to have heat lamps or source of warmth for them, sometimes the power goes out in the middle of the night and this unit is a great device to let you know to get the generator running to save the baby chicks. Very useful and well built, alarm is VERY loud so even for the deepest sleeper, this alarm is it.

Fonctionne tel que réclamé. Alarme très forte non ajustable, mais entendu dans toutes la résidence. Batterie facile a installer. J'aime que l'unité ne soit pas directement sur la prise de courant mais elle est relié avec un fil électrique de petit format sur la prise. Satisfait de l'unité et de son prix. Je le recommande.

This alarm is loud amd does its job! We have had 2 power outages and it alerted us each time. The noise can be heard very clearly from the basement.

Il y avait une pièce manquante. Mains pires que cela, le compartiment pour recevoir les batteries n'est pas assez grand donc impossible de les installer.
