I bought an old Ford diesel with a Banks turbo kit and the Banks pyrometer was bad, so I got this as a replacement. Easy installation and it appears to be working like it should. Picture is cold start idle, but it has been driven since then and the displayed temperature appears about what you'd expect for city driving on an 80 degree day.

Works like a charm and was a good replacement for my old mechanical pyrometer. It provides more accurate and timely EGT readings than the mechanical pyrometer did. Make sure it is grounded properly.

The pyrometer needs to be connected to the 12V electrical system of the car. When turning on the A/C and with less than 1volt of system drop, the reading goes down half way from where it was before.I even installed the gauge directly to the car battery with the same result.This render the pyrometer useless since I cant use it when any electrical load is applies to the car.

Works perfectly on my 7.3ltr Ford. Installation was straight forward per the directions and information on line by drilling and tapping into the drivers side exhaust manifold. Temp climbs and falls rapidly as you get on the throttle and it give me a lot of information about how hard the engine is working, as well as how far it has left to go before you can run into issues with a programmer. Ran wiring up through the floor using a new firewall penetration found here on Amazon. Used a steering column pod mount. The stock light made the house extremely hot to the touch, so I've recently ordered a LED upgrade from Amazon (part number 3285 for the green) for the the T3 wedge incandescent bulb it comes with. I tapped into the dash light and power wiring on the radio connections since I was upgrading it as well.

Works as described BUT, A word on installation. Mine at fist did not work but a call to Auto Meter set me straight, Make sure the ground wire is actually grounded to the engine block. I attached to the engine block bracket for the turbo and, BAM, it now works!

The kit comes with a sensor and connection wires that add up to about 10 feet of overall length. Worked well for me because I mounted it in an overhead gauge pod and needed all of that length. Response time is very good withe EGTs rising and falling as soon as boost builds for a hill or other hard pull. Very impressed with initial results. We'll see how long it lasts but I'm happy with the results right out of the box. A bit expensive though.

Gauge is defective, very disappointed. Tested with another functional gauge, sensor works so gauge is obviously the problem. Returning and not purchasing another.
