βΊReview of: Logitech G502 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse, HERO 16K Sensor, 16,000 DPI, RGBβββ ππ©π’ππ! ββI've never had to say avoid a product in a review before but the Logitech G502 Lightspeed Mouse is completely and utterly unusable due to the broken, buggy, abandoned, PC crashing, BSOD causing, resource-hogging, insanely ridiculous software called 'π πππ―' that you MUST install to use the mouse.I stupidly swapped my G502 Spectrum for the Lightspeed version as I'd heard amazing things about this Lightspeed tech. Well, the Lightspeed technology seems to be really good, no latency at all, a few tracking errors occasionally but overall it feels good.However, upon first use it tells you that you MUST install and use their new software called G Hub, you cannot use the old Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) for the Lightspeed versions of their products. No problem I thought, so I installed it... and that's when my gaming world ended... and I'm not joking.The new G Hub software is FUBAR, it is broken AF! This has even been admitted by Logitech staff on their Reddit page. In fact, there are so many complaints about this software on their forums, social media, and Reddit page that they were ordered by management to abandon the forums and stop responding to complaints about G Hub. Genuinely, there is a whole thread started by the Logitech staff on Reddit about it, where the customer and gamer loyal staff at Logitech apologised again and again to us gamers for all the issues with G Hub, admit that management is not listening to them or the consumers, and said goodbye because they were ordered to stop responding. It really is that bad, just Google it if you don't believe me.It hogs 90+% of CPU usage on any system multiple times a day to search for updates even if you have updates disabled, whether a 4-thread or 32-thread setup it beings your system to its knees. Constantly bricks itself requiring a full uninstall and reinstall. Then it deletes your profiles. Then causes a BSOD or full system lock-up. Then updates even though you disabled updates. Then the update doesn't recognise your mouse. Then it kills your cat... OK OK, that last part is an exaggeration but I wouldn't be surprised if it did that!I can seriously go on and on with the horror stories, it really is π©πππ© bad.π© - I don't even want to give it 1-star because it's unusable, I've had to go back to my old Corsair mouse until I can get a decent working replacement. I've contacted Logi over and over on social media, their own forums, Reddit, site tickets... and all I get is; "ππ¦ π’π³π¦ π΄π°π³π³πΊ π§π°π³ π΅π©π¦ πͺπ―π€π°π―π·π¦π―πͺπ¦π―π€π¦ π€π’πΆπ΄π¦π₯, π±ππ¦π’π΄π¦ π΅π³πΊ π³π¦πͺπ―π΄π΅π’πππͺπ―π¨ π΅π©π¦ π’π±π±"... blar blar scripted replies.No more Logitech products for me until G Hub is scrapped and a formal apology is made to us the consumer.

Cheap mechanical switches on the inside.
If you do a little digging on the internet, you'll find that buying this product and many similar logitech mice tend to have very cheap switches in them. They dont last very long before they start to cause; double clicking, no registration, cant drag and hold (important for gaming, something this mouse is supposed to be suited for) and overall just creates a short life span for the mouse.I tried to get product support for this item for the above issue, it took 3 days to receive a reply and what I got was an automatic response that told me nothing relevant to my issue. Im trying again now for support but I dont have my hopes up. But here's the short info for my caseTotal life span: 1 Year.Problem started to arrise: 5 months.Product Support: Little/None.Cost: Β£129.95 - Expensive.Buy at your own risk, Quality control on this product is incredibly light.

The best of whats on offer but no better than what was made 10 years ago.
Logitech has gone downhill progressivly since the MX revolution. Google Omron mouse switch if you'd like to make this mouse last a decent while, it's the clicker button and it's the same since 10 years ago, they break, get dull and need to be fixed manually, the current g502 is already sticking and I'll need to open it up only a few weeks after purchase.For some reason on the g502 they've used an oversized mouse wheel which will roll freely from the moment while gaming or letting go of the scroll wheel, the older versions each used a smaller wheel which did the job fine. You can find videos to modify this mouse wheel to use the older wheels which is a big improvment.The good side, the inifinity scroll wheel feature and the dpi switch is a must have once you've used it, but the current mice from logitech either skip one or the other of these features. The Master and the G903 has no DPI switch so they we're a downgrade from a productivity point of veiw, even though they we're far more comfy to work with than the G502 which does cause hand cramps.Productivity used to be the keyword with these mice, they we're great at it too, now it's all RGB.

Great mouse and it's without a tail.
I love Logitech mice always good quality and most reliable. This one is no different.I've always liked their button that can make the scroll wheel freewheel so it's easy to zip up and down pages etc. I've not seen this on any other mouse (not saying other companies don't have this, I've just not seen it)I do mostly gaming and I was a bit concerned over going wireless and the associated lag. I can honestly say that I've not noticed any lag and this works as good as any wired Logitech gaming mouse I've used in the past. I use this in conjunction with Logitech's Powerplay wireless charging mouse pad and it keeps my mouse charged without having to put the mouse on a dock or attach to a charging lead.Usual, easy to use software and associated led programmes come with it or you can download it.

The Best Mouse Got Better!
I think this is my third 502 now , they are superb. This one really looks nice. I love all the buttons. It's great of any type or work or game. There are actually 11 buttons on this thing. I find the Logitech Gaming Software excellent and not yet tried the Logitech G HUB which is the more recent replacement .I allocate them all to numbers 1 to 0 ( 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 - I generally don't use the 11th button) then edit each game to set the function of those numbers. That way I don't need separate profiles for the mouse.Excellent mouse. Buy one!
