I don’t know about that for the children, but actually, my husband loves this absolutely really enjoys doing these the pieces of good quality. We’re never sure of the pieces. I’d recommend it for any person out there that likes building cars, Denise Knight.

Brilliant kit,haven't done Meccano since I was 14. Unfortunately on reaching stage 38 there is a missing part. Have contacted Meccano but not heard back.Would have got 5 stars but for the missing part. Meccano / Spinmaster have been in touch since I wrote the review. Their customer care is brilliant. I no longer had the box,so Couldn't send the code required. They have let me know that the code is on the handle of the tool. They are now looking at sending me the missing part. You can also download the manual from Spinmaster for all 25 versions of this kit. So have changed the review mark to the 5 stars it deserves. Spinmaster have contacted me to inform me that because the kit is an older version they no longer support it so cannot replace the part. Luckily the missing part does not show up so is no big problem.

Really worth the money. Bought this for my grandson because I bought these for son when he was a little boy and it helped him enormously to have patience and build things

Bought this as a present for friends, it was received with great anticipation and appreciation. The mere brand name Meccano speaks volumes to the inquisitive mind. Meccano still adheres to it’s original core values. The toy still boasts versatility, ingenuity and simplicity, Meccano is devoted to stimulate minds of all ages.

Bought for my brother and he is delighted

Having contacted the manufacturer, after a few emails (I thought they were stalling) the item has been replaced. The contents haven't been checked yet, but I was impressed that a new kit was sent rather than all of the replacement parts we found missing. I bought this as a gift and on opening the box to start assembling found that parts are missing, wrong parts supplied, and that is even before checking everything completely. Now I have to check all parts and contact the manufacturer. If this fails, then the item will have to be returned. Extremely disappointed to begin with, but now much happier.

Sans aucun doute un cadeau intéressant, qui change -pour un ado- de passer des heures sur son portable... Connu et reconnu, du 'mécanno' reste une valeur sûre, qui parvient à captiver un jeune..! Plans de montage inclus, avec le modèle aux feux qui s'allument. Bricolage très sympa et très utile pour nos jeunes. Une multitude d'autres plans sont dispos sur internet, qui permettent d'aller plus loin. Après, bien sûr qu'il est possible "d'inventer" ce que l'on veut (mais peut-être cette époque est-elle révolue ?). Les pièces sont de bonne facture et qualité. Les outils sont adéquats. Je recommande.

Challenging construction. Good manual for detailed guidance. Nice also that three modells can be built. For 10+ years is a true statement.

Purchased two of these cars for a family building challenge. Cannot speak highly enough as to the overall quality of all components, packaging, instructions, fit and final assembled model. Very impressed with the condition of all components after disassembly as there was no deformation or creasing of plastic components. Models were assembled in a challenge situation only to have one of the motors not being able to rotate. As it was integral to the construction it was difficult to check the battery orientation until major disassembly had been under taken, which left one party in a disappointed state.
