Men's Authentic Original 2-Eye Boat Shoe

These shoes, a perfect fit, were worn comfortably right out of the box. And you can wear them in any weather, rain or shine. Sperry shoes are durable, long lasting and well worth the money.

I won't be able to give a fully detailed review because I just picked this shoe up about two hours ago. This will be more of a first impressions review. I've wanted to get Sperrys for a while now because a huge percentage of my friends have them, I just never got around to it. This weekend I was waiting in the shoe section for someone so I tried on some Sperrys. I liked the way they looked, so I decided to go ahead and order some a few days ago. I debated for two days between the Sahara and Oatmeal color. I ended up getting the Sahara, and I could not be more pleased with the color. I was hesitant about getting it because of the Amazon picture, which is misleading. In the picture the color looks like a reddish dark brown, but in reality they are a more tan version of the Oatmeal, or a light brown, which is exactly the color I wanted. I also ordered them a half size below my usual shoe size because that was the overwhelming suggestion in what I had heard about Sperrys. People said they stretch out when you break them in, so it is recommended to get them in a smaller size than your usual size. After I got them, I tried them on and walked around for a bit and they were pretty comfortable. They will need some breaking in, but for day one they were pretty good. Also, I was pleased with how they look because I was wearing some stupid looking pants today for a Halloween prank and even on those the shoes looked pretty good so they must look nice when worn with normal pants. The best part about these shoes is that you can wear them with pretty much anything and they will look nice. I have seen my friends wearing them with jeans or khakis and they look good. They are casual enough that you can slip them on with some jeans or shorts, but not so casual that you can't wear them khakis. My friends also wear them with khakis and they look good on those too. Overall, these shoes look good and from what I can tell, they are comfortable so far. As for whether they are worth the price tag (usually around $80 I think, mine were $75), that just varies from person to person. In my case I had a bunch of Amazon money from gift cards I've gotten, so it wasn't a big deal. Also, I really like the way they look so in my opinion my purchase was worth it. For a pair of shoes $80 is fairly expensive, so I cannot give a definite yes or no answer as to whether or not they are worth it. If you are looking for comfortable shoes that can go with many different types of clothing, definitely consider these shoes.

It's easy to forget that the good reputation of a name brand is often for a good reason. There are plenty of shoes that look basically the same as these, but the rubber sole on these is absolutely the best. They are smooth to look at but with a razor-cut gripping surface that makes them stick to a wet deck. Being smooth, they do not collect sand and track mud and dirt onto a boat or house and require effort to clean. I like that the soles are sewn into the leather uppers since I've had other shoes with glued soles come off. These are great.

Just got mine today & they look authentic. did a lot of research so will try to put everything I looked for in this review. 1st: the fit: it's pretty common knowledge to order half a size down, I usually wear 11 & ordered these in 10.5, they fit great, the leather will stretch with time so it's probably a good idea to order half a size down. 2nd: authenticity: They look original to me, checked everything, a good surprise is that these were made in Dominican republic & not in China. I bought them through Amazon and the color is Sahara. the quality should be the same regardless of where they're manufactured but we all know that isn't always the case, so that was pretty good. 3rd: QUALITY: MOST IMPORTANT PART: obviously it's still the 1st day so can't comment on longevity but the sperry quality is fabulous and these look pretty much the real deal, the only thing is that I'm a niptick type of guy and I examined these thoroughly since they're an internet buy. the stitching on one of the soles was subpar, and while you can't actually see it while worn, you'd expect better. the left tongue was damaged and scratched by being pressed by the laces, while it's not a very big deal as well, again, with this brand and price you'd expect better. 4th:Color: got the Sahara since it's the most popular. Something noteworthy is that I thought Sahara and nutmeg are the same thing since I couldn't find the 2 colors in the same store at the same time & figured it must be 2 names for the same thing, apparently sahara is darker, I eventually saw both at Macy's, the 10.5 size at Macy's was a bit more roomy as well btw, not 100% sure, but I think so. BOTTOM LINE: You know what to expect with buying a top sider, it IS the real deal if you're afraid, I'm just not 100% sure if these are considered an outlet version with very minor defects or if that even the ones on the original website have these sometimes. if you're buying some odd color with a bargain price here, go ahead and buy it, if you're buying one of the main colors (Sahara,Tan,etc) like I did with the same price as Macy's and Sperry's website for 95$ then I'd probably buy them from an actual store next time, but if you don't want the hassle then you can go ahead, I'll try these for the day but I'll probably ened up keeping and enjoying these. I cannot count the pairs of Sperry topsiders I have bought throughout the years. The best summer shoes. You can wear them without socks without your feet getting sweaty or slimy. They wear like iron. When they get dirty, throw them in the washing machine with a few towels and let them air dry. The only problem I can see is that if you need support, will be on your feet all day, or maybe walking a long distance, these would not be right. But for just about everything else, these are perfect.

The reviews are not for the exact item and for an item similar. So this is my review for “ Sperry Men's Authentic Original Plushwave Boat Shoe” ! They are great! A few reviews said they are cheap.They are not cheap! Sperry has a newer high end “ gold cup”, maybe that’s what they were expecting? These are the plain Jane original boat shoe! They have improved with a newer material(EVA, I believe) for the heelcup! Makes them more comfortable! Other than that they’re just like the ones from the 70s and 80s I used to get all the time! I’ve worn for three weeks now. They are durable! No, stitching, coming undone ! Or rubber soles ripping! The real leather is stretching, and the shoe is becoming more and more comfortable with wear! I’m writing this review because I was hesitant on ordering these with the other bad reviews! The pair of” Sperry Men's Authentic Original Plushwave Boat Shoe” I receive have been fantastic! Will be buying again in the future! When these wear out!

I am extremely disappointed with Sperry's lack of customer service and their complete failure to support a product with an obvious manufacturing defect. Over the past 12-14 years, I have purchased this same boat shoe six times.(See photo) I replaced them periodically due to normal wear and tear, never a defect, as they were frequently exposed to water—which is expected for a boat shoe. I was a loyal customer. However, a pair purchased on September 14th developed a major defect after being worn only five or six times. The upper portion still looks brand new, however the sole of the right shoe is separating along the stitch line. When I contacted Sperry, I was informed that they would only honor the warranty if the shoes were purchased DIRECTLY from them. Since I purchased them via Amazon, they deferred responsibility to Amazon's return policy. Unfortunately, I am a few weeks past Amazon's 30-day return window. It is unacceptable that Sperry refuses to stand behind their product due to a technicality regarding the point of purchase, especially when the issue is clearly a manufacturing defect and not related to the retailer. While I may have lost the cost of this single pair of shoes, Sperry has lost a long-time customer and several hundred dollars in future business. As the saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" Sperry will not get a chance to fool me a second time.

Great shoes for casual wear in the summer and fall. Great fit and didn’t need to be broken in. Also great on the boat, particularly climbing around the boat to hard to reach places while in the Atlantic Ocean.
