Revolving Lighthouse Beacon

The media could not be loaded.  Full disclosure: I did upgrade to the LED bulb and put some transparent color filters on the lenses.I have made 2 similar light houses, this was my prototype. The beacon is still working and I have it run 6 hours a day, 3 hours before sun up and 3 hours after sun down. It has been running for 2 years (purchased in 21, review in 23) steady with this on a timer. Highly recommend if your looking to complete that project.

This light is amazing. It brought my 6ft lighthouse to life. It's not too strong either. I was worried about it flashing into the neighbors windows. Its just perfect.

PERFECT

We purchased this unit to provide a realistic lighthouse look for a stage prop.Where this unit is as described, it does not include a power cord, it's just the rotating light and a 4" electrical box to mount it on. You will have to take care of the wiring and supply a power cord. It's not incredibly difficult, but I can see how some might expect a bit more. I purchased a three-pronged power cord for installing dishwashers, wire nuts, and a conduit wiring clamp from the local big box building supply retailer to get this working.This device is also NOT weatherproof in any way. If you use it outside (and the scale of a suitable lighthouse is likely too big for indoors) it will have to be enclosed and properly wired up to be safe.That said, the end result is a perfect model light for a lighthouse. It rotates as a real lighthouse does at a realistic speed. It even looks the part of a rotating light with the lenses moving and the light seeming to flash just like the real thing. All in all, I'm happy with the appearance and function and I'm not put off by the limitations or having to wire it up myself. It's going to look great in the lighthouse prop we are building.So, know what you are getting and if that's what you want, this thing is great. Most of you though, I have a feeling won't really care for its limitations.

For my DIY light house I could have used a Solar light. Having an actual revolving light is that little bit of extra that makes it better than Store bought light housed. The only modification I made was to tape over two of the 3 lenses on the spinner and replace the bulb with an LED bulb. However it works great out of the box as is.

It is the perfect size for our 3 foot lighthouse. Just added a timer and plugged it in and it lights every night.

Works good but for the price you pay you would think that it would be made alittle stronger

Great light revolution is just right, need to wire up when you receive it but very simple to do, just one wish is the bulb needs to je a Led bulb.
