## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why do these bulbs have an energy class rating of F, when other makes have an A rating?**
A: The rating advertised is based on the old rating, there maybe some stock with boxes showing the old rating, i have had a mixture of both delivered.
They are now rated 'f' which if you compare with the old rating it is equivilent to a+ or better. 
As previously explained companies have vastly improved efficiency so a new rating system was needed.

It does not mean they are not efficient as claimed by another persons answer, they are just plain wrong!

**Q: Mine arrived sealed with sellotape, is this normal?**
A: No is not normal. Mine stopped working after leaving the good review.

**Q: Does the two pack come in one box? I’d like buy too and give them to different people**
A: Its 2 bulbs in one box

**Q: Is there a iphone app that i can add all my smart home devices to that will give it the full functions, tapo app wont let me add any other brand names**
A: Some basic apps are amazon alexa and google assistant. More advanced home assistants are smart things (AEOTEC), hubitat and home assistant but for the last two you also need some HUBS. You could also try using siri shortcuts for iphone users. MY personal assistant is amazon alexa since it is compatible with A LOT OF DEVICES and brands.

Really impressed with these smart bulbs. Setup was straightforward and they connected to Alexa without any issues. It's really easy to set up on the app, a lot easier than my much older smart bulb, glad I bought it, you don't need to keep turning the light on and off everytime you need to set it up again it's perfect. Also linking to Alexa via your phone is simple and Alexa can adjust the brightness for you. I use to have a colour bulb I think for novelty purposes but always preferred soft lighting like this bulb. I would definitely recommend this bulb over a coloured one if you don't actually want different colour options.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Doubling down on TP-Link after initial problems connecting

I have a talktalk router which broadcasts 5ghz and 2.4ghz bands at the same time. I bought 5 of these bulbs, three of them connected via the Tapo App relatively easily, the other two I could not get to connect. It always went through to the pairing stage of the setup process and then failed. I tried turning off the 5ghz band on my talktalk router via the admin backend. But this didn't work. After multiple attempts including swapping the bulbs around, I gave up and was considering sending them back. However at the time I was also looking for better wifi coverage in my home so despite my experience and with some reservations I bought the TP-Link Deco X20 AX1800 Mesh wifi system on Prime day. This set up very easily and it gave me the ability through the Deco app to turn off the 5ghz wifi with a simple button, and then once that was done I managed to connect the last two Tapo bulbs easily. (they still wouldn't connect with the 5ghz band active even through the Deco routers). I find it a bit strange that every other device I have that uses the 2.4ghz network has had no problem connecting to my original router and yet these bulbs seem to have a problem, and also why some connected and some didn't, hence why I give this product a 4 star rating. Now they are connected I am very happy with the light they put out, the Tapo app is easy enough to use and allows you to set up different shortcuts to turn on/off the lights in the various colours etc as well as other useful options such as grouping them by room/name and automation options like turn off lights at midnight, turn on at sunset etc. I also like the way they integrate with alexa automatically getting detected and then voice control is possible as well as alexa suggesting routines that you might like to use.
