Oster BVST-EK5967-NP Digital Temperature Control Kettle, 1.7-Liter

This is a very useful kettle, the variable temp makes it useful for many tasks- gargling with warm salt H2O, quick boil for cooking in another pot, setting a 170°f for setting a mouth gaurd. We use it daily for coffee, tea, ramen, hot chocolate, etc.Very glad we bought this model and will purchase it again

I have a love/hate relationship with this kettle!! I have bought a few of them and here is why - I use the lower temps because I do a lot of yeast baking and I find heating the water to the correct temp instead of a higher temp and cooling is very convenient. But I had one short out while we were camping in our trailer & one boiled dry and must've also shorted out. I don't understand why it doesn't beep on the highest setting.

This is our second Oster kettle. The first one had a burning smell to it after use (minus one star). We threw it away and bought a second one. Mostly because it beeps when done. It heats water quickly. Happy with the purchase.

A friend of mine purchased this at the full price. It stopped working about six months later. Since I was using it at the time, I replaced it with one I bought here for $11.25. It's been working for two months, but I noticed the "stainless steel" has developed the same rust spot on the rim next to the handle that the first one had. We're already hunting for a more reliable replacement as we expect this on won't last long. Unless you are getting it for $11.25, it's a waste of money.

It stopped heating just short of the 1 year warranty period. After some hassle the manufacturer replaced it, but I'm glad I bought the Square Trade Warranty, which is inexpensive since I'm sure it's going to break down again. Aside from that, it heats quickly and the varying temperature settings are good for different kinds of tea.

First off, this thing is like my second child. I depend on it several times a day. So I’ve had 2 of these and both have broken exactly the same way. Just work fine one second and the next, nothing. I took the whole thing apart (being an electrical engineer sort of guy) and found that it appears it’s the software (if you will) in the electronics that fail, not the actual hardware. Wonder if it’s made to fail like I found out my Samsung TV was...

This is so much easier to use, and faster, then a water heater or stove top kettle. However, even with only using filtered water, there are stains forming on the bottom of my kettle.

would have loved it if it was brand new. way too much money for a used and dented one, but they were very helpful in refunding my money back

Probablemente la mejor adquisición del año. Tanto así que salí de viaje un mes y fue el artículo que más eché de menos. Para los que tomamos bebidas que requieren una temperatura diferente a "hirviendo-asesina-pescuezos" o "agua con burbujas para bien machos" es perfecta. Tengo afición al buen té y al mate y cada uno de los tipos diferentes requiere su temperatura de infusión. Si le pones agua hirviendo a un té blanco de Fujian estarás cometiendo un crimen imperdonable. Con esta tetera puedes obtener la temperatura que desees, con cambios de 10 en 10ºF. OJO: ¡grados Fahrenheit! Es de lo poco que no me gusta de esta tetera, no se puede cambiar para que reporte la temperatura en centígrados. Yo lo resolví imprimiendo la equivalencia de los ºF a ºC en una etiqueta que pegué a lo largo de la ventana del agua. Lo otro que no me gusta es que los indicadores de (+/-) para las teclas de ajuste de temperatura están pintados con una pintura que se borra al poco tiempo de uso, bien, pero bien chafita. Por esas dos razones pierde una estrella. Aunque de usarla todos los días varias veces ya me sé de memoria qué tecla es cuál y hasta cuál es la temperatura que obtengo por el número de pitidos (sí, cada vez que aprietas las teclas... suena, y bastante fuerte, por cierto). Ahora viene lo más importante del review... Algunas personas se quejan de la poca durabilidad de la tetera. Por eso aquí van dos sugerencias. Primero: cuando se coloca la tetera sobre la placa de inducción, automáticamente se pone a 212ºF. Esa es la temperatura de ebullición del agua... ¡a nivel del mar! Yo vivo a 1500 m.s.n.m. y obviamente hierve antes. Si no seleccionas una temperatura más baja, es obvio que el sensor de temperatura nunca llegará a 212ºF y nunca la va a apagar automáticamente y se va a terminar volando el fusible térmico que trae. A menos que vivas a nivel del mar, ajústala a la temperatura de ebullición del agua según tu altura (Google sabe) si quieres que el agua hierva. Segundo: si se llegara a fundir el fusible térmico, es un paseo de campo remplazarlo (Google también sabe cómo). No necesitas ni siquiera llevarla a un técnico.En resumen, con un poco de cuidado, puedes tener una tetera maravillosa para tener agua a diferentes temperaturas. Yo estoy feliz con ella.

Es muy buena! Calienta súper rápido el agua y aunque parece chiquita le cabe bastante líquido! La recomiendo
