We purchased a thermostat that turned out to be faulty. Initially, our AC wouldn’t stop running, so we bought this thermostat with the intention of replacing it ourselves. However, after we installed it, the thermostat didn’t respond at all. We thought the new thermostat was fine, but when we tried it on another AC unit, that one stopped working as well, showing no response.At that point, we thought both of our AC units were malfunctioning, so we hired a professional repair technician. After checking, they confirmed the issue was with the thermostat, not the AC units. We ended up purchasing a new thermostat, and everything started working normally again.This faulty thermostat caused us to spend over $200 to hire a professional to troubleshoot and repair the issue. It has been a very frustrating experience for us.

There is a restocking fee if this does not work for your unit. Appeared exactlyvas my last trane thermostat but a/c tech said prongs do not line up? Hear pump but this said was for both. 470 dollars and change restocking fee. Did not see this noted in descriptive post. Refund was processed , return accepted . But bit of a surprise

The programing mode did not work. To claim it was good as new was simply fraudulent.

I had this system installed over ten yrs ago, I thought I would up grade go wireless (wrong) older systems. Didn't like the change had go back a purchase single stage, really need two stage jumper fixed the problem. Bottom line keep it simple, and check your batteries ever few months make sure not leaking into thermostat. Will

as long as you don't need assistance, it's ok. Calling Trane, they run you around and get your info then ask if you are a Hvac Certified. I bought it on Amazon, so DIY. Not even the issue, it works but has glitches that the manual doesn't explain. Why does it turn on sometime when it shouldn't? After all the run around and transferring to someone that should help the say call these random local hvac company and ask them. WTH!

I'm visiting friends who have this thermostat. They're not home and I'm cold. This Trane thing is designed to drive you nuts. You can push as many buttons as you like, it will still say 'sys off'. After twenty minutes trying to coax this thing to life, it gets a bit old compared to the simple one dial thermostats they used to have that would turn the heat on or off by turning the dial. Trane reminds me of this Sony sound system I had which had two buttons you could push, one button to make the music go louder, one to make it go less loud. Trane uses digitization to make things more difficult for consumers. Apple is not perfect, especially these days, but one thing that made them so successful is that they reduced the number of buttons to push. Trane throws in more functions and buttons and forgets people would like to turn on the heat without needing a manual.

Has a CIRC function that runs the fan only for a certain percentage of time. Great if you have a stuffy room or are trying to balance the temps between floors. Unfortunately, thermostats with this function seem to be rare.
