Prime-Line Products R 7174 RV and Mobile Home Double Pole Roller Catch,(Pack of 2)

Our travel trailer was delivered last June with a typical set-up for the water filter cabinet: the door had hinges on both sides, intended to keep it closed except for servicing. As most RV'ers know, it's a real pain to have to unscrew that third hinge twice a year (or more often if something goes wrong). So I decided to remove the hinge and replace it with the same roller catch found on the other cabinet doors.The R 7174 RV has the same dimensions as the factory-installed catches. It is functional, and was easy to install—sort of."Sort of" involved the cheesy wood screws. They installed easily and securely for the roller catch, mounted to a wooden vertical stringer. Mounting the spring latch on the door was a different problem. The door is shaped/routed MDF, and (even with pilot holes) both screws snapped near their heads, with a 32nd of an inch left to drive them. The shanks fractured flush to the surface, so they were impossible to extract without one of those screw-extractor sets that I don't happen to have on hand. I had to move the roller catch up a little, and ended up "stealing" the heavy-duty square-drive hinge screws used by the manufacturer to mount the spring catch.It brought two things to mind: (1) the manufacturer obviously had to work around weak cheesy screws as well; (2) the distributor of this hardware should spend the two cents it would take to include a higher-grade screw with this package. These are marketed as "RV and Mobile Home" parts, and touring through any RV show will reveal that most mobile cabinetry is made of similar, hard material for which the supplied screws are no match.So, 3 stars: it's "okay" because I was able to install it, but no better than that because I had to substitute my own mounting hardware for what was supplied.

Used these to hold my full size pantry doors shut. Worked well. Not too hard to pull open. Just tight enough a latch that it stays shut.

The screwheads literally twist off the screws when you try to put them in the cabinet, even with a pilot hole nearly as big as the screw itself, and use a handheld manual screwdriver. Is this even metal? Almost like the screw is made of playdough. Unusable.

Easy to install only took maybe 10 minutes to install and most of that time was measuring to make sure the two would meet properly. Now my entry closed door stays closed.!

Worked great as a latch for my pantry

Worked perfectly. Metal is thin and weak but doesn't seem to be an issue at all.
