Thanks to the ineptitude of the UK government and corruption of the energy sector, those of us who prefer a gas hob are paying through the nose to use it so rather than my money being in their pocket I’ve got this beauty so more of it stays in mine. It’s slower to boil a pan than a gas hob and a giant pan of water never boils but provided you are reasonable with the heat up time and use a regular pan it’s perfect, once it hot it stays hot so regulating the temperature takes a bit of practice but once you’ve mastered it it’s no problem.

Lovely looking double hob. We bought for my Dad as he recently moved and was without a hob, being on his own this is the perfect size for occasional use however loses a star as the back right leg is fractionally shorter causing the unit to wobble, easily solved with a double sided padded sticky dot but may be an issue for others.

Looks good, easy to clean. Heats up great, had no problem searing or browning meat. As with a conventional cooker, one has to " get to know" one's cooking appliance. For searing and browning, I found that my stainless steel frying pan worked the best on this. I've bought another one and will keep both even when I replace my conventional cooker. Very handy for a single person when one pot / pan is all that is required to rig up a meal.
