Quality paper
The paper is thicker than I thought it would be, and the grid is darker than I had anticipated, but it's turned out to work well for me. I use felt tip pens for the most part with writing on the paper. It doesn't bleed through, and I can see my writing easily over the grid. The corners that hold the paper in are flimsy faux leather stuff, but I wasn't expecting anything superior with the cost of this item being so low. That is the least of my concerns, but it might be of higher priority for someone else so I thought I should share.I would purchase again. I really like having this desk pad and I love the grid pattern. With the kinds of lists and important information I have to write down for work on a daily basis, it's made organizing much easier, and I have all my important noted right in front of me so I don't forget stuff like I used to.

Big enough to draft scaled drawings without the need for an mechanical arm with rulers.
If you are into a project that demands some precision, graph paper you can scale allows much more accurate fabricating with less workarounds and errors. And once drawn, closer estimates of costs are more easily calculated, to compare elements of the project and exercise priorities. When it's important to budget and have things right, draw it out. I recently "winged it" on an topside creeper, too wide, too tall, and then, didn't use it. It wasn't critical and it's still handy to have for other work, when it comes to something much more involved, like a offroad squaredrop trailer, you need to be precise. Literally, to the quarter inch.I used these pads in estimating accurate bids for architectural hollow metal and it counts where you find the hidden adds or unscheduled extras - things which were meant to be up front are sometimes hidden in the weeds until after you win the job. Due diligence is your only protection.

Not bad for the price, but "pad" is just a stack of paper
I didn't expect much for the price. As others noted, the retaining corners are very light-weight, unsure how long they will last. The "pad" of engineering paper is not a true pad - the pages are simply loose pages, not bound together on an end. I assumed the pad was a standard size, but it is 17"x12", not 17"x11". The replacement pad I got for it does not fit - it's actually 17.75" (including to binding) x 11". So it's too long and too narrow. Perhaps the blotter won't actually last long enough to need to refill...

A Must buy
I buy these when needed

Does the job but not for full price
This was a black Friday deal. The paper is thin, and the backing to hold the sheets is cheap. I expect it to last only a short time.

very nice
smaller than what i had before but that is ok. The graph lines are clear and ther pages are not attached via perforation. You just slip them out of the four corner pockets and move on. The back side is not graphed but you could turn it over and use back side, also. I put notes on mine as i think of things, and try to keep them in categories, thus the graph lines

Perfect for jotting down notes at your desk
I work from home and often speak to clients on the phone. I've developed a habit of jotting down quick notes/reminders on the desk calendar I had beneath my mousepad, and not using it as a calendar. Once I reached December, I decided to search for a desk blotter that was actually paper vs a calendar. I read the reviews for this item and someone mentioned it was just a pad of graph paper inside of a blotter 'frame' and that is accurate. It is what I wanted, but if you're seeking something more sturdy than this isn't for you. The pages aren't attached so they can easily be removed to reveal the next clean sheet. If the pad seems too thick, then you can remove the extra pages and only use a few at a time. Again, this is exactly what I wanted and the description and reviews are accurate. Great product!
