Great customer service response
Updated Review: 11/18/16The 4 stars I'm giving now are in regards to the company's customer service.I bought this slicer back in September and the item I received wasn't working the way it was supposed to; by the time I had a chance to return it, the window had closed. The Chefaith team reached out right away via email after I left a review of their product; offering both a refund and a different version of the slicer I had ordered to compensate for the inconvenience. It was very thoughtful, and I appreciate the time and effort they put in to remedy my purchase experience. The 16 blade slicer itself didn't work out, but the company went above and beyond my expectations to do what they could to make things better, which isn't something everyone does.---------This thing is the worst. It goes half way through an apple (small or large) and gets stuck no matter how much you throw your entire body weight onto it. The blades aren't sharpened at all, so you're basically left shoving twice the amount of blunt metal through a fruit that refuses to be sliced. In the end, I'm the fool stuck with it since I failed to return it in the one month window. Hoping this review cautions others not to make the same pointless purchase and mistake I did.

It works, but only with considerable force! There are much better 16-slice corers on Amazon.
The media could not be loaded. I'm not sure if this deserves 2 or 3 stars. It's a lot faster than using a knife, but there are much better 16-slice corers on Amazon! I've got another 16-slice apple corer - I was going to give this one as a gift - but not only does the other one create slices much more easily, it also has a part that pivots over to do the final separation of the apple from the corer. With this one you've got to coax the slices from the corer after you've made the cut.I'm giving it 3 stars grudgingly, but it's borderline and perhaps should be only 2. If you don't have much strength it deserves zero stars! If you're a smaller person, have any sort of weakness whatsoever, arthritis, etc., or are simply looking for a better corer, consider others! I think with any sort of weakness or physical problem you simply won't be able to make it work.I don't think it's clear in the video how hard I had to push to get the corer to cut through a crisp, medium size Pink Lady apple. Maybe I should have grunted more as I shot the video! The 16-slice corer on Amazon I prefer is Prepworks by Progressive. It costs about a dollar more and works a whole lot better!

I liked the color and the fact that it creates more ...
I got this apple slicer because my previous one had broken. I liked the color and the fact that it creates more than 8 slices, so I picked this one. However, when it arrived, the blades were much duller than the blades on my apple slicer that I had had for years and had never sharpened. I had to use most of my body weight to press down enough to cut through the apple. From my experience, though, that is common for the more affordable slicers, which this is. I'm not thrilled with the effort it takes to slice apples with this, but the number of slices and the price made it worth it.

If the apple looks like it would go through it
My problem is that this is too small to core and slice large apples. If the apple looks like it would go through it, you still have to be very careful to get it lined up just right or it will bind along one edge. And it takes a lot of force. I weigh about 190 pounds and it takes about all of my upper body weight to force this through the largest apple that will go through it.A little bigger would be better, but when you get the right size apple and are heavy enough to force it through, the results are very nice.

Not for everyone
This item might be very handy for people with strong hands, the blades are not very sharp and it require to push down very hard. I bought it for my mother, she is 83 years old and she couldn't use it. I try to use it myself and I couldn't either, neither my daughter and granddaughter. I ended up holding the blade on top of the apple and hitting the apple against the counter, several times. I got 16 tiny slices still very juicy. I will update my comment when I have a video.

extra blades GREAT for pie slices
I was placing my Amazon order and remembered I wanted to replace my apple slicer. Did a pretty quick read-through of what was available and as luck would have it I picked a WINNER. Well made, sharp blades, comfortable handles. But what I really love is the number of slices I get. I didn't even realize what I had done -- with this one I no longer have to cut the slices after using the slicer! Does anyone else do that? Now when I make a pie, the slices are already the perfect size. And when I bring to work, my healthy snack seems to last longer (duh, it is more slices) and I feel more satisfied. This purchase not only does what it promises but it may help me lose weight! ha!

Works ok but would select 8 blade instead if I could
Works good but a little hard to get completely through an apple. Have to be careful when pulling the last bit through to where the wedges pull apart and they are small. If I could do it again I would probably buy the 8 blade slicer so the wedges are a little bigger and may be easier to cut all the way through.

Works for some. Orange peelers nice perk though.
The orange peel slicers are awesome (didn't even realize they came with the apple slicer when we ordered it...and took us a few to figure out what they were, lol). The apple slicer works alright on smallish apples, but out 9 year old even has trouble with it then. Absolutely does not work well on fresh/hard (fresh, not fully ripe yet) or large apples.
