Audio-Technica ATR3350xiS Omni Condenser Microphone (ATR Series)

The sound quality on this microphone is good, but buyers need to be aware about an inaccuracy in the product description. It states that: "Dual-mono 3.5 mm output plug connects to a video camera, DSLR, or handheld audio recorder’s stereo 3.5 mm input, to record audio on both left and right channels." This is NOT correct. The recorder will only record to ONE channel. I have tested it with THREE different items (a camcorder and two professional standard handheld recorders) and with all three items it would only record to the left channel. This means that if you are using a stereo camcorder, stereo camera, or stereo handheld recorder, then you will only get playback one one side, and the other side will be silent. The only way to fix this is to buy special music or video editing software to use after making your recording.

I tried a cheaper lapel mic and it was awful. It didn't pick up my voice and created a huge echo.In the same room and settings, this one had a vastly superior performance. I then used Audacity to edit the sound.
