This book lays out the Biblical foundation for not only marriage but gender distinctions. It is a very basic over view of God's design for marriage and how marriage models aspect of the relationship in the Godhead, Christ and His church and how it is foundational to society.It rejects all aspects of egalitarianism, aka, capitulation to feminist and Marxist thinking. It is from the Complementary perspective, and while the complementary perspective is closer to being Biblical model for marriage. It also seems to think that male rule and authority is limited to the sphere of authorities of home and church.The reality is the Bible is deeply rooted in Patriarchal rule, women are not to have any authority over men, in any of the spheres of authority, which consist of home, church, and State, men are the only God ordained authorities in these areas and God is Sovereign over all. So, I personally find that complementary model is compromise or pragmatic position between the Biblical patriarchal and the Feminist Egalitarianism.Other than that personal disagreement that I have with the book, the book was solid in call to men to take responsibility for their homes not only by providing but shepherding their homes and women to be in submission to that authority, the churches job to help equip both to do their duties at home.It gave a no compromise condemnation of homosexuality, gay mirage, and any attempts of either gender to embody something other than how God biologically made them, aka, transgenderism, even going so far as to state the men and women should dress distinctively different from each other and have different hair. Women long and men short hair, we should be celebrating our differences in the way God made us, not trying to seek an unnatural androgyny between the sexes.I am giving 5 stars here on Amazon, but personally, 4(only because I think Bible is clear, women are to have no authority over men, and Isaiah 3, is clear, women ruling over men is judgement on the men and over a nation from God, so we should fear that.)

Great book and a clear and simple read. While both the authors are theologians, they write in such a way that anyone can easily grasp the topic at hand. The issue that this book addresses is the core issue facing our culture today. This book provides a clear biblical exposition of what God says about this topic, and equips the reader to discuss it intelligently. If you are interested in engaging the culture you must master this issue. This book will do just that.

This is the best short introduction to biblical manhood and womanhood. It is engaging, accessible, and thorough. As a pastor this will be the first book I recommend to people for their understanding of this important issue.

This is an very thorough and Biblically accurate explanation of the God designed roles for men and woman according to God's divine plan. It is a must read for all Christians who desire to live according to Biblical principles and for all Pastors as they lead and teach the flocks entrusted under their care.

Mr. Strachan believes that men and women can take God's words seriously, and he helps the reader to see what this means and how to put it into practice.

With the creation of man and woman, they leave out the most important role of them: to worship God. Jesus said to the woman at the well that"Those who worship Him must worship in Spirit & in truth. There is a hymn that is titled: "O worship the King". There is a Christian song writtenby devoted Evangelicals "....I was maid to worship at His feet". Rick Warren in his popular book PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE says that "God wantsbe a friend of God. They do not say this. With this friendship God can show His love for man which makes man able to love his wife more completely.

In this book, you will learn to appreciate the way God made us. The Lord's will is good, pleasing and perfect.

If you don’t like the Bible you won’t like this book! It’s a very easy read yet filled with great insight into what the Bible says about genders and our roles within them. Very encouraging and helpful.

Don't read this if you don't want your views on male and female roles challenged.

Every Christian should read this. Puts Gods order into perspective. Equality but different roles.
