This is a really cool product. Using it for my offset umbrella, and my purple Martin pole.

Well made product. Definitely need to plan on using a bag on concrete to keep it secure in its base (sold separately). I have pretty firm soil but the wind blowing an umbrella around will eventually make it loose after a few weeks.

I mounted this into a 2ft pipe which was also secured into the ground with a concrete footing. I needed this installed on a slight hill so the pipe is raised from ground level and is camouflaged with garden.We get some strong gusts here in the northeast, so far so good.Bye bye unsightly, obtrusive base!

The part was installed correctly but in order to get the base to sit flush to the ground, the "hole" would have to be below ground level...which would cause it to get dirt inside

You must buy this with GARD & ROCK Aluminum Anchoring Base, Flush with The Ground - for Screwing or Concrete... Hard to find, works great, not for use in soil if you have any larger than a small umbrella. Check the reviews for suggestions on use in concrete.

Nous avons installé 2 bases à 2 endroits distants sur notre grande terrasse ( achat de 2 bases G&R pour un seul pied G&R) afin de pouvoir déplacer le parasol selon nos besoins. Très costaud, ça pèse, qualité au rv . Adaptation sans problème du pied à la base de notre très grand et robuste parasol déporté de 4x3m maintenant parfaitement tenu . Après 4 mois d'usage nous l'estimons un super produit et les gens de passage sont épatés par la simplicité et la qualité du principe. La (les) base (super le petit niveau à bulle intégré et amovible ) a été scellée sans soucis dans l'épaisseur de notre dalle béton ( un coup de perforateur et d'aspirateur, et ciment prompt avec quelques jours de séchage pour s'assurer une dureté maximale ) L'installation dans notre terre argileuse même archi compacte n'a pas fonctionné vu la portance et le poids de notre parasol déporté, on s'y attendait. La terrasse est enfin dégagée, fini les trébuchements et orteils écorchés par les horribles et envahissants pieds de parasol . Au final plus rien à ranger puisque la base reste en place. Nous envisageons d'acheter la série poteaux pour jeux de plein air, et celui pour parasol non déporté . Un seul bémol les conseils d'installations et de mises en oeuvres sont un peu succincts, faut de la jugeotte. Attention! le système actuel ne fonctionne pas sur des terrasses en bois , G&R devrait se pencher sur la question. Conclusion un concept et une qualité parfaite. Et cerise sur le gâteau, G&R c'est Français ! Cocorico !

I found this to be well made and strong, which it needs to be to hold a heavy offset parasol. Having done a bit of research this was the only make that seemed suitable for our needs. We have had the base cemented into our patio and the stand, attached to the parasol, can easily be taken in and out.They were out of stock during lockdown but were helpful and emailed when they were available again.
