People have cheek to diss 1995 version for been cheesy and cant act yeh rite,after looking forward to this trailers looking mint I'm like what the flip is this, cant act to save their lives boring as heck guy in comments below loads combat whoe lui kang throws fireball at subzero misses he returns fire with ice ball destroys him kung low pops up throws hat hits subzero raiden pops up the end rest training an rubbish fights that go like that avoid at all cost.1995 version 1000 times better than this

Who eventually follow Raiden and begin to train to protect the earth realm. Sadly the plot is typical of previous Mortal Kombat movies and does not keep you on the edge of your seat but instead provides a purpose to the movie whilst you wait for the epic fight scenes. I always felt whilst watching the film that it was a build-up to a potential second film.Despite the storyline, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Josh Lawson who plays Kano adds a whole star to my review for this movie, the jokes he cracks throughout the film had me in stitches to the point where I would almost call this a comedy. The humour along with many faithful references to the game made it an enjoyable film to watch for a Mortal Kombat fan.The visuals are impressive, it is clear thought has been taken into how their skills could be applied to combat. On the 4k Blu Ray, certain scenes look fantastic with HDR applied, especially Liu Kang's fire abilities.The audio is the most disappointing part for me. It is subwoofer heavy in the fight scenes and the 5.1 audio provided on the disc did not add much to the experience with limited surround effects. The fact this was a 4K UHD disc I would have expected 7.1 audio. There are some nice trance/dubstep tracks though that try and pay homage to the original movie which did add some nostalgia to the film.The packaging is okay but limited to a nice slipcover. The discs are plain other than the text so I think more could have been done here. But there are a good number of extras on the Blu Ray disc including deleted scenes, 'From game to screen', 'easter eggs of Mortal Kombat' and more, that Mortal Kombat fans will definitely appreciate.Overall I had a great time watching this film, I would rate it 4 stars for Mortal Kombat fans who will understand and appreciate the game references, but would only give it 3 stars to viewers who know nothing of the Mortal Kombat universe.

PLOT...MMA fighter Cole must stand and fight with Earth's greatest champions in order to defeat the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe know as MORTAL KOMBAT!This is a fantastic live action movie version of the cult video game series, whether your a fan or not this is an epic action fantasy movie, I'm personally a fan of the old movies made back in the 90's as cheesy as they were, they were fun and well made, but the new 2021 version takes it to a whole new level with a tight story, amazing visuals, very faithful to the games and Mortal Kombat history, and much more darker and bloodier!! The effects are top notch throughout and we get some amazing fights with some bloody fatalities! This movie serves as a beginning of a series, although that's how it feels as we establish our main fighters powers throughout the story, I really hope this movie gets a sequel it deserves. The casting is decent and the music is good, love the remix in the end credits. There's plenty of little nods to the games in there too hidden around the background, if your a fan make sure you check it out.The Blu-ray looks amazing in 4K Ultra HD, very clear crisp picture and great colourisation.Features are great, plentiful stuff to watch, deleted scenes 4mins, and lots of featurettes on the making of the movie with interviews etc. 63mins total.Region FREE ABC, Running time 110mins. 2021.Multiple language and subtitle options.The Steelbook is very cool and has great simple art front and back. features are on the standard Blu-ray disc only.

Enjoyed it. For context, I'm old school MK and even own an original MK2 cabinet. I did enjoy this film for the most part, but this Cole Young character was confusing. I spent most of the movie trying to work out if he was Johnny Cage or Lui Kang. And I'm still not sure if he's Johnny Cage or not? I would have preferred it a lot if they'd just stuck to the tournament format in a similar way to The Quick and the Dead.

Really liked it although the original was very camp this version is true to the game in same ways and serious great movie

The new Mortal Kombat film is basically your normal story line of revenge and good over evil to put it simply, so i agree the story line is not all that new neither is it anything you won't have encountered before watching other films thus it is fairly easy to follow... and the fight scenes make the movie.That is all it is if your not a MK fan.If you are an MK fan on the other hand and a follower of the games like myself then you will enjoy this as your the targeted audience, it has Scorpion, Subzero, Brutal fight scenes, Fatality, Special Effects & The Cathprase's.Ok in my opinion there should have been more of the characters but lets be real if you are a fan of the game like i am if we are honest the cast list would have been huge to manage that!So GET OVER HERE! Buy it.
