Hayward SP1082GV Skimmer-to-Suction Outlet Valve Assembly Replacement for Hayward Automatic Skimmers

Always wondered why my main drain didn’t have a dedicated line to the pump. Mine ends in the skimmer and would only draw minimal water. My pool chemicals weren’t circulating because of this although my Barracuda helps with that. Now I can adjust this to share suction between the skimmer and main drain. Pool is cleaner than ever. Great value for the money, easy to install with included screws and feels substantial enough to last in the pool.

My original one was very old and was broken. I installed a new one a week ago. It fits well and does the job as intended.

The butterfly valve inside the housing came fused together so, it doesn't turn at all.Garbage.

Arrived on time. Installed easily. Made my skimmer more efficient again.

Despite what any dumbo may claim from a pool company , u do need this if you have a heyward skimmer , it works great to pick up dust or debris near the “ main drain “ deep end of the pool. Just brush dust near it and in a few days it will be filtered outA must have !!!!!!!!!!!

You need this, no matter what your "pool guy" says, for your pool system to function properly. Proper setting for regular filtering is 75% from the skimmer, 25% from the bottom, meaning the internal valve is positioned at 45 degrees. Not having this part installed results in accumulation of deposits on the pool floor and also algae growth in the now stagnant plumbing section. Who should you trust more? People designing complex pool systems or the dude cleaning them? Your choice... (Other piece of the puzzle often missing and as crucial is the Weir)

Having more control between the flow from the skimmer vs the drain to the pump was exactly what was required to keep the pump & filter running when dealing with low pool water levels due to extreme late summer water use restrictions in our area.
