LEGO Star Wars Assault on Hoth

There's so much playability in this set! I love that it encapsulates everything from the movie in the original trilogy from the Ion cannon, the door that it built into an icy mountain, the lookout guy, the generator, the icy cave where Luke is taken by the monster, the guns/missiles, the good guys (the Rebels) and the bad guys! Even inside the door there are elements of a base with a command center/control panels, a cargo loading vehicle, and a hanger area to fit the included snow speeder! I know that a lot of other Lego critics were upset with Lego's decision to name this an "Ultimate Collectors Series" set and those typically are extremely detailed, tons of pieces, and have a high price tag. This comes with a big price tag and many pieces, plus I think it's a great set! I'm not personally sure whether or not it deserves the UCS name tag/branding but it doesn't discredit the fact that it's a great set! I recommend that you check it out and I know that serious Lego Star Wars collectors will get this because it's such a MUST have!

We had a blast building this set with my son. There are about 13 set pieces and you can assemble them in any sequence. For example my son started with trenches and towers so he can start war play earlier. We followed with a-wing and yeti cave with Luke. Every day we would add another piece. Time together - priceless. Set worth every penny.

My review is not going to say anything that others haven't really pointed out. This set has some massive short comings....especially at this price point. However, as a collector of all Hoth sets, it's a must have. I don't care that the power generator is incomplete. I don't care that there's not enough Storm Troopers. I don't care that the most important (and coolest) element in the battle of Hoth is not included in an Ultimate Collectors Series set (no AT-AT? No AT-ST? #FAIL). I don't care that the snow speeder is rushed and somewhat incomplete. I don't care that there's no real coherence in this set (what the heck does the Woompa and its cave have to do with the Battle for Hoth?). I don't care that the ion cannon is pathetic in size. I don't care that this really appears to be a money grab for a not so well put together set. I bought it and I LOVE it. What I do care about is this.....no Chewbacca, no Darth Vader and no General Rieekan. For that, minus one star.

This set is one of my favorite Lego sets of all time. it was a very fun build. the manual is one big book that has all the directions. not very hard build but still took about 5 hours. this bad boy looks great on the display. i highly recommend. worth every penny of my money

This is a great set and purchased as a Christmas gift and will be the highlight for my 12 year old son. He's a Lego Star Wars fanatic and was hoping to receive this for Christmas. Arrived quickly as promised and the box is in fantastic shape. Can't wait for December 25th!

LEGO set was USED. I do not recall seeing that information. Very disappointing to see something for sell yet it does not specify “used”. Legos came in zip lock bags.

This is a great set, it provides hours and hours of fun to both my kids and my husband!

This is not an Ultimate Collector Series Lego Set. LEGO is charging to much for this set. There ion cannon is not complete. It is only 3/4 finished. The shileld generator is to small. Most of the minifigs are found in other sets. Most of the content has already been made for other sets. This is just a large play set and not a collector series. Not sure what is happening with LEGO and the Star Wars brand. They are just insane on what they are charging for the Star Wars items as of late. Finally, the Lego.com site (which is full of lego collectors) rated this set) rated this on average 2.5 bricks out of five.

One of my favourite sets to date. The co celts are original, lots of original LEGO pieces, 21 mini figures! Great set to use to add to it later on to build your own Hoth MOC! It has been discontinued now so pick it up before prices skyrocket and it is no longer affordable. A truly classic for fans of the original trilogy

Great set, in new condition. Not priced ridiculously high as some Lego sets, priced to take advantage.

You just need a lot of space for this lego set.
