Beyond Everlight: an Urban Fantasy Novel (Fearless Destiny Book 1)

What a fascinating world this is. Broken and dying, the few parts of the accessible world are under the yoke of the djinn. Resources are failing and humanity is forced to pay an annual tribute of humans to the djinn without knowing what will happen to them. Kenna, an enforcer is stubborn, brave loyal to humanity and her family and friends. She is someone very easy to root for. The world building in this is intricate and magical, and the twists and turns of the plot are absolutely breathtaking. Without giving too much away, poor Kenna seems to have lousy taste in men. I cannot wait to see where this all goes next.

Starts well at a good steady pace, then about 1/3 in the story steps up a gear and almost becomes hard to keep up. I feel the author just wanted to progress to the next stage in the story as quick as possible, but the change was poorly executed. Saying that, once the story has indeed moved on, the new pace set is easy to follow, although quicker. Overall story is intriguing and leaves a lot of open ends for the next. I am unsure if i will get the next book.

Another cracking series starter.Loved the book, loved the characters and loved the scenes.I am flying through books written by this author and highly recommend them all.

I loved everything about this series of books and just couldn't put them down, fantastically written with stunning and captivating characters, Multi layers of sub plots that are easily followed and wonderful action with romance. A must read for so many reasons. I am sure you will love these books as much as I did.

Didn't really engage me very much tbh.Not in a rush to buy any follow up books at all.

Debbie Cassidy seems to have a wonderful knack for creating magical and intriguing realms. She is a prolific writer, but that in no way indicates a lack of quality. This author is not just a talented builder of worlds, but also a talented weaver of tales, with an uncanny way of helping her readers understand her characters.This story follows Kenna, who is a Fearless, a member of the human race who is able to fight the denizens of another realm that crashed into our when scientists started playing around with things they didn’t understand. There are three realms discussed in this book, Lindrealm, or what used to be Earth, Twilight Realm and Evernight. There are all sorts of treaties in place to enable Earth to stay free of the denizens as much as possible, but things seem to be failing somewhat.There are so many layers to this story it’s hard to summarise it in a way that doesn’t provide spoilers. There are complex relationships between Kenna and the other characters in the book, with friends, love interests, family and allies. It’s impossible to guess what is coming next because of the author’s wonderful imagination.If you want to be transported to another world, this book can certainly do that.

Loved the twists and turns in these books, never sure quite what was about to happen, who was to be trusted or who was the bad guy and made me laugh along the way. Great story
