ZippoAce Lighters

A sharp looking lighter with a nice design. The photos on the Amazon listing are accurate but this thing is a bit of a chameleon. If you look closely the Amazon photos show two completely different looks and both are accurate. In indoor lighting, the engraved side can look cream colored or it can look chrome / metallic. It depends on the angle and strength of the light hitting it. I was hoping for or expecting a chrome / metallic look. But 90% of the time you are going to see the cream color. I think it's the etching process that creates the cream effect because in the right light, you can get the silver metallic look.As for the "Black Ice" color of the metal case, that too was a surprise. In the Amazon photos it looks like a very noticeable black chrome. In person when I first took it out of the box, I thought it was a standard chrome case that had been shipped in error. It was only when I put it next to another Zippo I own (Regal Armor High Polish Chrome) that I could tell it was indeed different. It is a black chrome but it's not easily noticeable unless you have a piece of regular chrome side by side for comparison. So if you're looking for something that is deep black with a high polish finish, this isn't it. This is much more subtle.I'm keeping it despite the fact that it isn't exactly what I was expecting. I don't mean to imply that it isn't attractive. It is. But it's one of those things that's really hard to depict accurately in a photo on a web page.I like the Ace Of Spades image. It's decorative but carries no iconography like crosses and skulls that will immediately get you tagged as religious or a biker. The design is neutral from that standpoint and the overall impression for me is just something from another era, an old lighter in perfect condition. That's the same reason I bought the Regal Armor lighter. They are both decorative without really calling up any certain image, just some classy artwork on an inexpensive little fire making tool.

It’s solid and feels good in my hand. This is a very nice update to one of the most familiar lighter in the USA. Just about every American soldier in World War Two had one as an important part of his kit. Of course it didn’t use butane but lighter fluid. The description in Amazon of this confused me as I thought I was purchasing the butane version. Apparently you have to buy the lighter fluid version and then buy the butane insert. Either way it’s a nice lighter. BTW there’s a little screw on the bottom of the insert that controls the flame height.

Nice lighter. The etching is great. Ace of spades etching look amazing.

Things to know:- Does not include lighter fluid- I would recommend buying flint along with this- It will get scratches on it over timeThis product works great for me and it’s cute.

The media could not be loaded.  The lighter has a unique faded color that you can’t really see head on, but reflects well in the light, mine doesn’t look exactly like the 100% as the product says but hey not bad

The product image appears bolder than it actually is. The black is subdued and the sheen shown is not sheen at all but a type of distressed look. Not what I was looking for but it's nice and I'll keep it.
