Good for the price
I wanted a small ish drum for my 6 year old. I wanted something small and not too loud. This is loud. Very. But he is quite happy, the sound is decent and the price was quite reasonable

Awesome little drum
I bought this drum, which has an 8" head for my grand daughter who is 10. It is the perfect size for her hands, has a beautiful deep bass tone and is hand painted. Really happy with the purchase.

Beautiful And Playable
This djembe is gorgeous, & a joy to play! I noticed some reviews complaining that the drum didn't have a nice tone, so I wanted to comment. When I 1st unpacked it and patted it, it gave a dead- sounding "thunk." Left to sit overnight, it produced a lovely, melodic sound. My collection includes a Native American style drum and a large tambourine. The NA style drum, I've found, reacts to ambient conditions, such as temperature & humidity. There are times when it sounds much better than others! My tambourine-which has a synthetic, rather than a hide drumhead-has NEVER gone out of tune since I bought it in 1990!I play the NA type drum with my fingertips to get the best tones. The djembe, however, plays best if I hold my hand w/ the fingers extended & gently slap it with the flats of my fingers.Perhaps some of the less satisfied purchasers will be happier with their djembes if they consider these things.
