Best magnesium deodorant
The Ivory deodorants are mostly unisex, although the only scents they make that I would wear are the aloe and the coconut, as they are more masculine in scent...no lavender for me!PROs:I used Dove for men extra fresh scent anti-perspirant deodorant before I made the switch to magnesium deodorants. This goes on just as smoothly. In fact, Ivory applies the easiest of any of the magnesium-based deodorants. It applies as smoothly as any of the deodorant brands you buy in the store (Dove, Right Guard, Arm & Hammer, Old Spice). Some of the magnesium or non-aluminum deodorants, like some of the Native scents, are painful to apply; they are so gritty and dry it feels like you're using a jagged rock on your skin.Ivory doesn't leave a nasty yellow crusty spot in the armpit of your t-shirt after washing it like the charcoal-based deodorants or gel deodorants. Ivory lasts the longest of any non-anti-perspirant deodorant brands I've tried (Crystal, Nfuse, Native, Bravo Sierra, Pit Stick, Dr Tom's, etc.). If you work in a profession where you sweat a lot, keep a stick with you and reapply if needed. You shouldn't have to reapply more than once in a day. It's not sticky and it doesn't burn when you apply it like Nfuse or Bravo Sierra.Ivory has a pleasant scent; some of the non-aluminum deodorants smell awful (looking at you Dr. Tom's and some of the Bravo Sierra scents) and the B.O. would be preferable.CONs:The price has skyrocketed for this, increasing about 50% in the last year and a half. This was $5.74/stick a year ago, which is up from the $4 it cost in 2022. Now it's up to nearly $10/stick. That said, the price of all other non-aluminum deodorants has increased too. In that same time, Bravo Sierra is up from $10 to $16 or more. Hyper-Dri went from $15 to $24! Gotta love Bidenomics I guess. Ivory is still the most affordable of the magnesium deodorants I've found. This particular scent, hint of aloe, is also getting hard to find especially if you want to buy a 4-pack to save money. If you wear a non-white shirt, you will want to apply this AFTER you've put on your shirt because it is white and will leave streaks if your shirt contacts the areas you applied this deodorant as you slide it on, the same as any other brand of white deodorant/anti-perspirant you've bought at the store.OVERALL:This is my preferred deodorant of them all and it's a brand I trust. It's good to apply something your body needs (magnesium) instead of something it doesn't (aluminum hydroxide, which has been correlated with Alzheimer's disease).NOTE: If you are a chronic anti-perspirant user and you are making the switch from aluminum-based deodorant/anti-perspirant, it will take a couple of weeks for your armpits to adjust. You will sweat A LOT MORE at first, so you may need to apply this a second time throughout the day. For most people, that will stop after 2-3 weeks.
