Worth it for me
I bind my own watercolor journals.(for my reusable leather journal cover) They are made out of 100 cotton arches paper so the tape had to be archival quality so that it would ruin my paper. Expensive but I am paying for quality. If I run out I will purchase white to match my paper.

Works well on books
I used this bookbinding tape to repair an old Bible with excellent results. The back cover had fallen off and I was able not only reattach it but also reinforce the binding with excellent results. I suggest that you look up instructions online before attempting to use the tape on any old or valuable books as there are certain methods of taping up books properly. The final results was a nice flexible cover that allows the book to be enjoyed again without fear of it falling apart.

Great for making homemade journals. Can paint over it with acrylic paints.

Works well.
I used this tape to secure the sewn binding on paper journals. Sticks very well and is tough. I remove the paper journal from my coat pocket 5 or 6 times a day, everyday, until the journal is filled. then store and move on to another. No problems with this tape and it is very sturdy. Just exactly what I need.
