I first discovered this product in the process of repairing some of my old books. When I ordered certain volumes, they would arrive with the spine partially unhinged or the dust jacket possessed tears that threatened to grow with time. In search of a fix, I repeatedly read online the value in using acid-free paper and glue for any repairs. As a result, I bought some durable Japanese mulberry paper.With paper ready, I had to find the right glue. Most websites, aside from preventing acidity, also emphasized the need for flexibility and durability. Wheat paste was the best option. Some people prefer to make their own paste, and while Lineco does sell a wheat starch, I ultimately went with this PVA alternative because I was afraid of bungling the process. While it is a synthetic polymer, it seems just as effective as the natural alternative.Some of the other reviewers express disappointment that their glue came out chunky, but I had no such issues. I can only assume the damage came about during the shipping process. My glue exits the tube with an even, smooth consistency. You do need to apply slightly more pressure than normal to get it to first emerge.The only additional work beyond opening the packaging was piercing the top of the container. The glue comes with a nipple, however, to ensure a longer shelf life. Once I applied it to the books and jackets for repairs, I was thrilled at how it turned out. It is a relatively quick drying glue, but I recommend leaving it alone for at least three or four hours in a stable position. My book jackets now stay in place, but with enough flexibility to allow for normal, cautious handling. With it being PH-neutral, my repairs should last for decades to come.My only complaint, if you can call it one, is cost. I felt that the product is reasonably priced and the bottle is relatively large, but if someone is unaware of what type of projects it is typically used for, they might think it is overpriced for normal school assignments or children's crafts. For professional purposes, it is a great, affordable item. I highly recommend it and will purchase again in the future.

I bought this to repair a few cookbooks. It worked will with the fabric tape.

I keep reading people saying their glue came dry and clumpy, I got one like that as well. I watched a video and someone said that just happens when it is stored for long periods of time and that all you need to is mix it. Well, you cant "shake the bottle" to mix it, it wont work. What I did was pour, actually squeeze since it was clumpish, into a bowl, then use a small painters brush and mix it for about 30 seconds. Boom, the glue is just as it should be, similar to Elmer's glue. I mixed it and applied to both the book cover and bundled pages, pressed firmly and stuck in-between two Omnibus books to hold it in place with the binding face down. After 24 hours, the book is dry and is more flexible than when I first bought it. The glue does not let go! I was repairing the Zenescope Wonderland Omnibus for reference.I highly recommend this glue, but remember to pour it into a bowl and mix prior to use.

A very good product. Adheres good, is flexible, and strong.

Not corrosive to paper. Easy to apply. Remember to put something heavy to hold the book in place after applying glue...AND take care not to let it open out on the edges of pages. It took several squish/wipe cycles to get all the excess glue out.

When I went to use the glue, I found it was solid in the bottle. not useable, and the return window was only 1 month, so couldn't return since I got it about 8 weeks ago. will get a new bottle at Michael's, which I think will be a more reliable source.

This was my first time using this kind of glue to repair books. I was quite impressed. The glue was easy to use and did what I needed. The books I applied it to needed some clamping to hold everything in place until the glue set up. But once the glue was set up the book look and work like new. I added 6 photos to show how I used this glue to repair a well-worn book.
