This is the first year that I have used these socks. Every year when we open our pool, there is all kinds of gunk in the pool. Without these socks a lot of gunk gets through the holes in the skimmer basket and the holes in pump basket and wind up clogging the filter.These socks are great at capturing this gunk. When we first opened the pool and started running the pump, I had to clean out the sock multiple times per day. As the water cleared, I had to clean the sock less frequently. Now that our water is nice and clear, I clean out the sock every 3 or 4 days (same schedule as when I put the cleaning robot in the pool).When we first opened the pool and the sock was getting filled quickly, I did notice a little loss of suction in the skimmer. But, the sock was absolutely packed. Now that the water is clear, I see no reduction in suction.I plan to use the socks throughout the pool season. I am hoping that our filter cartridges will not get as dirty as they have in the past. I'll know when I take them out to clean them later in the summer.

I may be obsessed with these! I live in Texas where Cottonwood trees dump tons of cottonwood fluff in the air and into my pool. My filter was clogged with this stuff. I am amazed at the "stuff" collected with on the socks. It makes me happy that it isn't ending up in my filter. We were having to hose down the grids every couple of weeks to keep my pool water clear. These are a real labor saver!

these filter socks do pretty much the same job as more expensive ones. they snag easily but otherwise hold up well. have purchased b-4 and will purchase again.

I place it on the outside of the skimmer basket and put a rock in the basket.When it's time to clean the sock I let it dry and replace it with another. Once dry, I shake out the debris.At the next cleaning, I just swap them up. Rinse, repeat.

These are the most inexpensive socks on Amazon and do an amazing job of cleaning out the tiny bugs that escape the skimmer. And cheap enough to just throw away every week! Game changer! Definitely needed here in Florida.

Don’t work as well as they say they do

This fine mesh bag, when placed in my pool's skimmer basket, reliably traps pollen and small objects such as pine needles and insects that ordinarily would pass through the basket and clog the main filter. I've used these for several years with great success and am pleased and sometimes amazed at how much pollen the bag keeps from going into the regular filter. Just be sure to remove and wash out the bag at least every 2 days.
