Very excellent but not quite perfect.
I would have given these strings five stars but for a couple of minor issues.First, the good news: I installed a set of M-Steel strings on one of my Strats and deliberately, as a test or assessment, used it exclusively for all my gigs from then on to see how long they lasted. Not only did they sound good and bright and twangy to begin with, but they also retained their freshness of sound for nearly a whole year of gigging at least once and sometimes twice a week as well as doing jam nights. Even when they did start to go off a little, they were still usable when I finally changed them. The not-so-good news: It was disappointing with that set when the first string (high E) snapped when I first put it on. I used instead a regular Ernie Ball .009" from my stock and didn't notice any difference in sound or output compared with the other two plain strings. However, it does seem subjectively as if the M-Steel plain strings are just a bit "stiffer", i.e. not as easy to bend, as the ordinary slinkies. Also, with the latest set I've just installed, the .009" high E went on without a problem this time, but I was disappointed to find that the .016" plain string, the G, has some apparent patches of corrosion along its length, despite having come out of a sealed plastic package. Speaks of less than perfect quality control, although in fairness the string does sound OK for now.To sum up: Only the minor issues I describe are small negative points, which might in fairness be confined to the two individual sets I've experienced so far. Overall, however, although the M-Steel strings are fairly expensive initially, they sound great and last so well that over time they are actually very good value indeed for money.

Great tone and energy - shame about the price
I play Jacksons with Seymore Duncan HSH pickups & I've only been using theses strings for the last 2-3 weeks but I'm loving them; super bright and loud, making my Duncan's sound a-kin to active pickups. The feel under the fingers is odd, though. They feel old and acutely rough and despite their growl, they look slightly dull. All this said, if they were, say £10 I'd say they would be worth buying regularly but at getting on for almost three times the price of the Hybrids I usually use, I can't see me buying them too often... If it were not for the high cost, I would have given them 5 stars.

Great strings.
I personally really like these,as with all things it's about personal preference. I like the feel of these and the sound is good. I'm an 80s metal style player and these work well for all your pinched harmonic squeals, two handed tapping and the other shenanigans associated with aforementioned ilk. I've currently got them on my Charvel San Dimas so they hold up fine with a floyd. I'd recommend trying them. (-:

Possibly fake or dud packet
Used these strings plenty over the years on the same guitar but this packet I ordered in particular two bottom strings uncoiled as they were being tuned up so didn’t even last a single note never mind set. Not impressed

AVOID! Worst oxidisation I've EVER seen!
Read the reviews about oxidisation, and thought it may have been a manufacturing issue earlier in the strings' life-cycle.No.The strings have only been on my daughter's guitar for 10 days, and they are unusable. They are pitted, and cause awful drag whilst playing. The strings look like they've been on for 2 years.Nowhere NEAR as good as the EB Cobalts. These are so bad I have requested a return, for which I'll have to take a hit from the refund, as the strings are used/clipped.
