Description
- The heavy Kirovets K-700 all-wheel tractor takes a special position at every tractor meeting and, of course, in every tractor model collection. Developed by the end of the 1950s by the Russian manufacturer Kirovets, the first prototype of the K-700 left the Leningrad workshop in July 1962.
- Between 1962 and 1975, significantly over 100,000 copies of the K-700 were produced. Equipped with an 8-cylinder diesel engine and 215 HP strong articulated handlebars were exported from 1968 to the former DDR. Known for its extreme reliability and very efficient, especially on large agricultural areas, by using a K-700 compared to the progress ZT 300, work productivity has been increased by three times.
- However, in order to use a Kirovets K-700 economically in the GDR agriculture, it was necessary to summarise individual fields into large areas. In this way, it was also calculated that a K-700 had to run at least 1400 working hours per year to be rechargeable. Since this was impossible in one-shift operation, a two-layer system was introduced for the LPG's equipped with the K-700.
- Schuco dedicates a miniature model in 1:87 scale to the Kirovets K700. In the 1:87 edition models, both the bodywork and the chassis are made of metal.
- As usual with Schuco models, a variety of details are precisely reproduced and processed with the highest precision. These models are an excellent addition to the model railway, diorama builder as well as for the pure model collector.
