Romantic and Very Suspenseful
This was a very intense and suspenseful story. Melissa is being stalked by someone very dangerous. Chris is trying to protect her all while attempting to make up for past mistakes. This book will keep you guessing and turning pages with a very intense ending. Great start to this series.

Didn't see that coming
Except I did. From the beginning.*spoilers*It really wasn't that hard to figure it out. Trying to shift blame from the most obvious and logical choice to the one that checks the boxes didn't work. It just made Melissa look foolish. But, how could her stalker find her? She just changed-only- her last name and moved back to her hometown. I can't imagine how her stalker found her. And her absolute refusal to entertain the notion that her precautions were barely precautions directed the focus elsewhere. And she was generally not a likeable character in the first place. Her life's motto, something about men being reliable until a hotter piece of ass shows up then they bail... I'm paraphrasing, was disgusting. And actually quite sad. I understand her circumstances shapd her world view. But there was not really any growth there. Maybe a few mentions from her BFF about holding men to impossible standards. And then all of a sudden.... "I'll work on it". That is some seriously deep programming! It takes more than "I'll work on it" to undo that. And Chris had faults too. He behaved badly, though not as bad as Melissa initially thought, but he was also scared. They both were. Which is to be expected when you engage in behaviors you aren't ready for!Plot aside, there were a ton of inconsistencies that were distracting and annoying. How old is Chris? 29 or 27. The math in any given situation doesn't add up. And is Melissa the same age? Or two years younger? He stated they were together 5 years. When did they start dating? Was she 13 and he 15 because ew.And a big one. He proposed marriage. At least twice. But when she turns up pregnant, he panics? Kind of understandable. But he was already gearing up to marry this girl. Support her. Move in together! Yet he wanted to adopt out their baby. Those situations just don't make any sense. Not my favorite read. Its really hard when the main character is so unlikable. And petty.
