Perfect for Kids!!
When looking for a tablet for my two girls, I wanted something that was both durable and good performance. I found it with the fire HD 8 kids pro tablet. The tablet is incased with a silicon material which protects the tablet for accidental drops. The tablet itself has great performance offering wonderful picture quality and numerous free apps that my girls could download for FREE. I setup the restrictions on the tablet with ease and completed them in under 3 minutes. This tablet exceeded my expectations for the cost.

Great starter tablet
My kids wanted iPads but Santa couldn’t afford that. I eventually decided to go with these. My kids have had them over a year now and they’re well used. My kids are now 10 and 12. My 10 year old daughter uses it the most but they have their fair share of games and we haven’t had any memory issues. Camera is average. But they have fun making videos too. One of her main concerns at first was finding a way to be able to message friends. Of course they’re not on Facebook. After some research found out, through a parent with Facebook, and friends with parents with facebook, you can utilize messenger kids. Remember this :) With games, camera, video, messenger kids, plus It has YouTube so has most things a kid would want or need.

Good tablet
Bought this tablet for my son and he loves it. He plays standard games like geometry dash and Roblox and communicates with his cousins and friends using Skype.I bought a second device for my friend's daughter and she doesn't like it all that much. She is into watching YouTube videos and she doesn't like the parental control limiting her content and what she can and cannot download. I suppose that's an excellent feature.Pros:- love the charging port, the upgrade from the micro USB port is great and the little ones do t break the charging port trying to get the cable in.- good screen size- excellent battery size which is very handy for the long trips- the built-in screen time limit or monitoring feature is great. I like that you can select how much time they can spend reading books vs playing games etc- it's pretty durable. My 2year old has dropped my son's one a couple of times and it is still going strong... Touch wood.Cons:- some basic applications are not available or are not simple to download. So if you sometimes use your kids tablet to do your own things, this device might not work for you.- the cover gets dirty easily... Or maybe that's just a thing because of my son's habits 🤔Overall, a good tablet for kids. I got both devices on special so I think they were good value for money.

Great Investment
We already had 3 kids fire tablets but they are old and the warranty is out on all 3. We had them for about 4 years and they are all still working. I decided it was time to upgrade and I purchased 3 8 kids pro and one 8 kids tablet since my youngest likes to watch her little Cocomelon and do toddler apps. My kids are ranging 2.5-10.5 and they all love it. I purchased an iPad for myself and though the iPad was user friendly for my older kids it wasn’t for my youngest, plus I always feared they would break my iPad. These come with cases and a 2 year warranty unlike the iPad. They are user friendly for my kids and I like that I can set timers and access parental controls on my iPhone and check in on those. I no longer worry if they are downloading apps that cost money or not age appropriate. They do have to ask for permission and it comes straight to my iPhone to either approve or decline. So now we have 7 fire tablets but we are donating the old ones to a family who can use them. They still work good.So far these tablets stay charged for a long time. We plan to do a cross country road trip and these will last. Worth the investment for us.

Worry free warranty confusion
Although the 2 year worry free warranty that states for 2 years, if anything happens to the tablet, you can send the broken one in and have a replacement sent for free, what it actually means is, for 30 days from the purchase date if anything happens they will send a replacement and you can send in the broken one. (In my case i had about 3 weeks left of the 30 days once it was delivered) After the 30 days, you will not automatically be sent a replacement, you will have to send the broken one in to the technicians and they will try to fix the tablet, and then send you it back. Granted this is still a very generous program because we all know kids can be rough with electronics. However, my only issue is that they advertise that it's as simple as sending the broken one while waiting for the replacement. Probably a 2-3 day turn around. After the 30 days the turn around time of sending in the broken tablet, waiting for them to figure out what is wrong and repairing or deciding it needs to be replaced can be weeks. There's no fine print explaining that automatic replacement is only for 30 days. As a matter of fact in order to consider these details prior to purchase you would have to assume the statement claiming a 2 year replacement warranty is, in fact, misleading, and navigate to either the help section, or customer service to even locate the fine print yourself. I'm just trying to help the next parent in case they were chosing this tablet because of the 2 year replacement warranty (cause we know our kids lol) so that you are aware of how it actually works. It just felt like I was tricked into believing that it worked a certain way when it absolutely doesn't. Like I said before though, it's still a good program seeing as how it's free, but it would have been nice to know that after 30 days I would have to wait a while for my broken device to be fixed and returned to me. Other than that the tablets are pretty awesome. My kids love them, especially the fact that they can video call each other from different parts of the house. The battery life is pretty decent too, my kids are on them alot, and I only have to charge them once a day or once every 2 days depending on use. The clarity of the screen is really good, and this one is much better than the smaller cheaper one. Definitely worth the extra money to get the older kid ones, however the toddler ones have a much bigger bumper to avoid breaks when dropped (or thrown lol) I had bought the 128gb SD cards for my kids tablets, and I never even needed to use them, they can easily archive old apps, or games to make more space and they've never used the whole amount of storage space. I think it works better with smaller storage space and archiving cause kids will download all sorts of stuff and never use it again lol. So all in all, despite the misleading 2 year warranty protocol, it's probably the best electronic purchase I've made for my kids. As a final note, the free 1 year subscription to the kids thing that it comes with, I can't honestly say whether it's worth it or not, so far my kids haven't utilized any of the subscriptions apps or anything. They mainly choose whatever apps they want from the store. So unless you're going to monitor and use the tablet for educational purposes, it's not really necessary. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
